Mrs. Gordon' Johnstone, of this.
village has' beenreplacing Mr.
Clarke Lewis at' the 'High Sch
for the. past week. Mr. 'Lewis suf-
f erect an illness . during. the . Christ-
mas holidays which has ,hospital-
ized him . in; Winghaxn for.the past
couple, of weeks. A former staff
member :at L D H.S., Mrs.:, John-
stone- was ,heartedly welcomed by
',the students- who had been ab-.
sent. .of a teacher • :for over a
week. We. wish to : thank '.Mrs.:,.

On Tuesday of last w our.
Basketball teams met • with those
of Sacred' 'Heart in Walkerton.
The L.D.H.S.'s .' boys' team left
for Walkerton in • the afternoon
as was . . planned previously; .but
when the Walkerton girl's teams
came into our ' school shortly af-
terwards . (when 'the . , game , was
scheduled for Thursday) the sur-
prise ended in panic ! There was
no referee! Several ,of .our ' best
players were.' absent , from school,
and our coach .had just; left for
Walkerton!
Nevertheless.. ' we we re good
sports and our girls showed tbht
they . could': play under the 'rough
est of conditions.. However, we:
hope that this ' won't_ happen, too
often. The results: 'of the games
are :as follows: Luckbow sr. girls
