Field Day was held at Teeswater on
Friday, June 12th with over .1000
attending. It was a 'joint field Day
of the .Clydesdale fanciers of Grey,
Bruce, Huron, Wellington, Perth and
Dufferin, the.Bruce County Holstein
Breeders' Club, the 'North Bruce
Shorthorn breeders n4b};;lhe Bruce
County. 'Yorkshire Breeders' club -
and 'the Junior - Farmers' Judging
competition. Each •organization car-
ried out ' its .own program and com-
bined for :the ' speaking part of the

was the guest speaker. The Walker-
ton Girls' Bugle .Band and the Luck -

Pipe Band were in.:attendance,.
Sixteen top .quality Clydesdales
'were on .display for judging and de-
monstration purposes. It is interest-
ing. to note that all of -these came
from, the immediate vicinity of Tees -
water. Norrnan Schmidt of Carls-•
ruhe rec.eiyed the highest marks for
judging horses and Murray McLeod
pf Kincardine was high for., boys.

ceive ' medals donated by the ,Dom-

'The Holstein, breeders held a jud-
ging ' competition and type demon-
stration with eight of BruceCoun-
ty's top quality Holsteins. Prize win-
ners in the . judging ..'competition
were Eugene Bridge, Isla '.Reid,
Clarence Hardwick, George E:` Hat;
rison and John McCharles.
The Yorkshire -Breed•e`rs judged
a class of herd sires from some of
the coui�ty.,'s top quality herds and

County Levy '
The County Rate' for 1942 was
fixed at' .6 mills, which is an' . in-
crease of ' one-half , mill over last
year's rate. As however, the ' 1942.
rate includes one mill to .cover :an
,inv.,estmerit• of $30,000 in '.'Dominion
Victory Bonds, the actual. levy for
the year' is only 5. mills, the lowest
° since 1916. This :low rate' is made
possible by the decreased' ecpendi-,
