sufficient farm . help to maintain

These figures were obtained from
questionnaires completed by 1814
farmers; out of a total of 4000. Corms
distributed. The average age of
these farmers .is 50.85; with 927 un
. + it ts, rnen figtu

sons liable to be called for military
training in. 1942. Farmers reporting
sufficient• help totalled 540; insuf-
ficient help, 874; extra men ` regiiir-
ed if available, 47$. Wages in com-
parison with the pre war. time scale
show anincrease of $16.72_inenthly
or. 50 per cent,' Few ,farmers can
improve . the , exchange of labor in
1942 and 615 have not sufficient
help to maintain 1 1941 production
figures.

county with 237 available for cus-
tom work in 1942. Farmers requir-
ing 960, 'units• of new Machinery
number 609, while 783 require re-
pairs.

dairy caws to be milked in • 1942,

in bacon hogs to . be marketed in

crease in hens to be kept, in 1942,
