Supplies ' brought in to Tobruk by
the .British Navy; enabling the be-
leaguered garrison to make its glor-
ions sally in the Libyan offensive,
included crate upon crate of ob-
long, stone-caiored cans, one -gallon
size. Made in 'Toronto, _these cans
are used to carry three vital fluids,
gasoline and oil' for the thirsty -sea-
chines of war, and life-giving stater
for, the men who 'live and fight on
the desert sands.
-These tiny "tanks". of war are
turned out at the rate of . approx-
imately 1,000 a day .and are' made
according to the most ridgid, spec-
ifications. One of . these specifics -
tions is perfect camouflage, for what
better target could there be on a
desert than a shiny tin can in the
hands of a soldier? A light, stone
colored paint is baked on the. cans
in one minute ' flat by powerful
infra -red lamps. The finish is en-
tirely dull; reflecting no light what-
soever. .

ing her sons in Toronto during the

Mr. Jake Hunters received word

George, who resided in 'Hamilton
and left Tuesday morning to attend
the funeral which was held. Tues-
day afternoon. ,
