ham hospital will be able to re-
turn to her home this week.

2 cups sifted flour % cup honey
% tspu. salt 3311 cup ndlk (scant)
Vi Cup shortening ... ya tsan..grated lemon
rind, if available
3 tspns. Magic Baking Powder
Sift dry ingredients together. Cut ha shoiten-
ing untiled. Combine a/4 -cup' honey with
milk; add t�, first mixture. Knead on lightly
floured board enough to shape into smooth
hall; pat %-inch thick- Cut with floured bis-
cuit cutter, place on, baking sheet and bake
in hot oven (4511°F.) 12 to 15 minutes. Mix re-
maining honey with .lemon rind and dribble
over tops of biscuits just before removing
from oven. Makes 14.

who was East on business per-
taining to the same and• took ad-
vantage • of the opportunity of
enjoying a short ' visit with his
mother and other members of the
family,
Mr. Chas_ Anderson and Mrs.
Fred. Anderson visited recently
with Mr. and Mrs. Herb Silber
of Crediton.
Mrs. Chas. Ritchie. is confined
to- bed due to a heart condition
sustained Tuesday inorning.

painful injury to his hand on

were badly cut, the end cut off

Horse And Buggy,
Not Obsolete Yet '
The horse and buggy age is
not yet a thing of the past.
Ezekiel Phillips of Auburn re-
cently used this method of travel
to visit at St. Helens with his
sister, Mrs. Wrn. Humphrey: and
with his sister-in-law, Mrs. Thos.
Phillips. The round trip is a dis-
tance of 30 miles.
Aid Bible Society
Donations to the Dungannon
Branch of the Bible Society a-
mounted to $62.00 according to
the report of the secretary -treas-
urer, Mrs. R. J. Durnin.
MAJOR W. E. HARRIS, who re-
cently returned from overseas,
received the Liberal nomination
at a convention held in Durham
last week. Major Harris is the
sitting member for Grey -Bruce.
Three• other nominees withdrew

FOR THE SECOND TIME, . the
war has brought bereavement to
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Stoddart 'of
Chesley. Their son Stoker C.,' J.
Stoddartwas killed in tion re-
cently, not long after they had
received. word that Gnr. Lorne
Stoddart had been killed . in
France.. A third son, Stewart, has
just .been discharged from Byron
Sanitarium after being invalided
home from overseas several
months ago.

M. S. was held at the parsonage
on Thursday 'afternoon with a'
good . attendance., Mrs. Zinn had
charge of the program which con-
sisted of a reading by Edna Mc-
Whinney and Mrs. Cecil Brake.
The chapter in the new study
book was given by several ladies.
During the business period Mrs.
Treleavenread a ' couple -of let-
ters & arrangements were made
to 'pack boxes for overseas and
for a Hallowe'en concert Mrs. R.
Finnigan, Mrs. Edna McWhinney
and Mrs. Zinn to be a committee.
Buried In Germany
The sympathy of this: commun-
ity is extended to the Durriin
family in the loss of their bro-
ther Alan, who as been buried
in Germany. His many friends
here hoped 'for • his safe return
when it was 'learned he was miss-
ing. It is doubly sad as his bro-
ther Graham had been killed just
six weeks previous.

Mrs. John Ross' spent the past,
week in Toronto visiting her"dau-
ghter, Mrs. Bill Brewer and other
relatives:

M. S. held their Thankoffering
meeting on Thursday at Mrs.
Neil McDonald's. Mrs: McDonald
presided. The guest speaker was
Mrs. Ringrose who read a mes-
sage prepared by Mrs. Crainm of,
Teeswater. Mrs. Wm. McDonald
sang a solo. The scripture was
read alternately. Prayer was 'of-
fered by Mrs. John Richardson.
After -the meeting lunch.was
served by the hostess:

ing with Mr. and Mrs. Harold
