The quilt was sent through the
Lucknow ,Red' Cross, and ' to

Kicked By Horse In
Driv/ng Dog :Off,
Mr. W. -F. MacDonald of Kin-,
loss was kicked by a horse last
Friday 'afternoon while in the
Village, receiving a . scalp wound
:that required five stitches.
It seems that a dog ' owned by
Harry ,fern, commenced bother-
ing a horse owned by John Mac-
Kenzie of the Second Concession,
causing the animal to ' back its
cutter into a car and to ' becorne.

Harry Nixon Takes .Seat
On Council Board
Harry Nixon. took his seat • on
the Lucknow Village Council ' on
Monday ;morning, when the .new
•1944' Board was sworn into of-
fice: Mr. Nixon . succeeds John
Kilpatrick. Otherwise the „Board
is unchanged :from] last year and
is composed of Reeve J. W.

Monday morning's, meeting
was a brief half-hour .session,
when year-end accounts. . were
passed before 'the 1944 Codncil
took' the declaration of office 'and
adjourned to meet that evening
for the inaugural session..
Reeve ' Joynt thanked the. ojd
Board for their assistance and
co-operation during the past
year. "I -think we all did our best
and will carry on during the new
year in the best interests of the
