John Shields, 83 years of ' age.
IIe was a' son of the late Mr. and
Mrs. Jas. Shields, born' 'on the
:farm beside his' late home on the
2nd Concession of Ashfield. Be-
sides his widow, formerly Char-
' lotte • Currell, heleaves two sons,
Robert at home and Percy of
Goderich, . also • three brothers,
Hugh Shields, 4th ,Con. Ashfield,
Harry at Dunlop and. Mathew -of
Duluth. The funeral 'service was
held `at his late home at 3 p.nm.
on Sunday, with a- large ' con-
course of friends to pay last re-
spects. -The service was in charge
of -RZev. -ii. ''J. Vickersofi and-the-
deeeased being a member of the
Canadian Order of Forresters-
L'odge, Port Albert, .the, pallbear-.
ers were fellow members, Messrs.
Wm: and . Ed. Brown; Harry' Led -
nor, George' Fielder, John Field-'
er and Nelson Pierson. The re-
mains were ' interred, at Dungan,
non cemetery. The fmily; was in
