"THE RAMBLER»
Some few weeks ago it was our
pleasure to again. revisit the
Evangeline Country better known
as the great Annapolis Valley.
I had previously travelled thru•
the Valley via the rail route and
on,. another • occasion viewed the
same from a bomber during blos-
som time,- an account of which
.you read some time ago.
This last journey afforded an
oppor:trinity to- see the results .of
'the season's- activities which •are
of course centred around . the.
apple growing . indus;try. The
area :: from Windsor through to
Annapolis- Royal .is. where the
apple growing is concentrated..
One can drive for miles through
orchards. which are so close to'
the road you can reach out and
reach the branches • from. your
passing car. To add to the beauty
of the drive the road is far from
being straight. The course of the
journey is in one general : direc-
tion but' whether built as an
after thought or following some
Indian trail it sure wasn't de-
signed in• the interests of. econ-
orny.
The very heavy crops • which -
it was o:ur pleasure to ,feast our
eyes on, met with disaster the
day' following. A very severe
s • ,• passed th e g1 _ li veY ,
heavy loss to the fruit growers.
This loss Might have been .sal-
vaged to some extent•had it not
been for the continuanceof wet

have the familiar flavor.
