Vaupel and FO. Fred Vaupel of
Port' Elgin have lost their lives
overseas. They are the only sons,
of, Mr. and, Mrs. E. • W. ' Vaupel.
Ray was killed in operations near
Tobruk, and word of his death
has been followed closely by the
announcement that. Fred was
"missing believed killed as a re-
sult of air operations overseas".
The two brothers . were insepar-
able, ' joined the R.C.A.F. at the
same time, trained together and
received their wings together..
They were parted on arrival
overseas.

The pupils and; ratepayers of
the section had a very enjoyable
afternoon at,the school on Tues-
day. A 'program- of races and
other sports and contests delight-
ed both young and old and - a
social time was spent. During the
afternoon the teacher, Miss 'Mar-

Mar-ion.MacKay was presented with
a lovely walnut 'end • table as a
token of good will •.expressed to
Miss MacKay before leaving to
take up new duties elsewhere.
