The drilling of the, new water
system • well south of the Flax
• Mill' has reached • a . point where
the ptunping test is being carried
' out The well yields a heavy flow
of, water, and has been plitniped
to as high ' as some • 500 gallons
a minute. A connecting main has
been laid ,from the well; Site to
the ststein's main to the north
of the: Canning St. bridge.
'Through traffic at this •point was
halted while main laying opera-
tions were in progress. ,
The hard surfacing of Village
road has has been comPleted, giving
the municipality an excellent
network of dust -free .black top,
Some finishing touches have to.
be made at intersections, other-
wise .the job is completed. It is
• contemplated putting a 'centre
white strip on this new pave-
,
ment to keep traffic moving on
both sides • of the road, rather
than down the centre; as it is the.
%traffic over these. roads which
helps to seal the blacktop.
