. Mrs.. Fred McQuillin presided
at the organ and her, son Barry

A very pleasant evening was
`held last Thursday night in the
St. Helens Community Hall when
over .100 ladies and • children
gathered to shower Joyce Mc-
Donald, whose marriage takes
place this .month, with beautiful
gifts. Mrs. E. •Barbour- was chair-
lady. for a short but enjoyable
program consisting of a piano in-
strumental by Mrs. Garnet Far-
rier;: a solo by John'Gibb,; a con-
test by Irma Forster' and a duet
by Phyllis- Barbour and •Irma
Forster. Then to • the: strains of
the .bridal chorus played` by
oma—Forster, the bri e -to=te
was • ushered up to the beauti-
fully decorated stage by Phyllis
Barbour. Mrs. David Gibb read
the address and Sandra Hum-
phrey and . John Gibb pulled in
a decorated: wagon laden :with
gifts. 'Misses Irma • Forster, Don-
na Woods, Jean Aitchison,. Phy-
lis Barbour and Shirley Mac-
Neill helped Joyce open the' .gifts,
then `showered her with confetti.
Joyce made a' fitting reply and
theyall sang `For She's. A Jolly
Good Fellow".
A lovely lunch•. concluded . the
evening: The shower was arrarig-
ed by Mrs. Gibb, Mrs. ' Barbour,
Misses Irma Forster, Jean Aitch-
ison, Donna .Woods, Phyllis "Bar-.
bour and Shirley: MacNeill.

was read -by -Mrs. -C.. "Crawford;
meditation by Mrs., K. Cameron
and prayer by. Mrs. R. Black.
Mrs: John Hallentertained the
:group with a vocal solo; "The
Prodigal: Son:'. The reading by
Miss Ada .Webster, "Do You Just
Belong". challenged each lady to
become a better' Member of the

tired nylon net over taffeta in
waltz length, styled with a fitted
bodice, Her fingertip. veil. was
• arranged from a seed pearl and
sequin 'headdress and she, car-
ried a white Bible crested: with
red rosettes and white stephan-
otis,
Maid of honor was Miss •Doris.
Wheeler of Wroxeter, sr of
'the bride . and the }iaidesmaid.
was Miss Elizabeth Campbell • of

The groom's .brother; Harvey.
Taylor, was best man and Bever-
ley Brooks was usher.
Following the ceremony a re-
ception was held at the home of
the bride's sister, Mrs. Robert
Mason of Wingham.. The ,bride's
:mother receiving guests wore a
navy crepe dress with navy, and
white accessories and red carna-
tion . corsage. The groonn'smother
chose a grey crepe dress with
navyaccessories and corsage of
red. carnations:. '
For travelling the bride wore
polka. dot dress of electric blue
e
and white with white accessor-
ies, white shortie. coat and cor-
sage of red rosettes. The couple
will reside in Ottawa.
