HELENS NEWS) A very pleasant evening was `held last Thursday night in the St. Helens Community Hall when over .100 ladies and • children gathered to shower Joyce Mc- Donald, whose marriage takes place this .month, with beautiful gifts. Mrs. E. •Barbour- was chair- lady. for a short but enjoyable program consisting of a piano in- strumental by Mrs. Garnet Far- rier;: a solo by John'Gibb,; a con- test by Irma Forster' and a duet by Phyllis- Barbour and •Irma Forster. Then to • the: strains of the .bridal chorus played` by oma—Forster, the bri e -to=te was • ushered up to the beauti- fully decorated stage by Phyllis Barbour. Mrs. David Gibb read the address and Sandra Hum- phrey and . John Gibb pulled in a decorated: wagon laden :with gifts. 'Misses Irma • Forster, Don- na Woods, Jean Aitchison,. Phy- lis Barbour and Shirley Mac- Neill helped Joyce open the' .gifts, then `showered her with confetti. Joyce made a' fitting reply and theyall sang `For She's. A Jolly Good Fellow".
