He was born at Cookstown. on
July .11th, 1866, arid came to St.
Helens at the age; of seven with.
his parents,. He ' is the _only liv-

A tall, ,' stalwart " man he was
a member of:more than one tug
of war team, and in 1910 was a
member of the '"Hurons" team
which' won the draw at the • Old
Boys reunion' in L•ucknow.
.Now crippled with rheurnatisr,
Mr. Woods has 'been bedfast for
two' months, but . his memory is
keen and •he takes°an interest in
television and 'radio.
.Mrs. Woods, who is ' the -former

Meiklejohn, is critically ill at the
Sick Children . Iospital, • in •Lon-
don;.: The little lad is suffering
from ...leukemia' -and on Sunday
lapsed into . a coma and was, in

that day and on Monday had re-
gained consciousness, but ' his
right side. was . paralyzed and he
had lost his .power of • speech.:
It was late. in' February that

medical examination revealed
that he had the dread disease,

found no cure,

On Saturday he was 'bright
