He was born" in, Osprey township,
Grey county', a son of the gate' James
Stevenson and Margaret Muirhead
Stevenson, and.received his "'early
education in the public school in . the
Forest district 110 spent' some years
in ' York county,. and; sixty-three.
years ago settled in Ashfield town-
ship., Nine ,'years'" of this: time`, was
spent, in ;Goderich.- In 'April of 1876,
he was '`married to Miss Margaret
Chambers, daughter of the late, Rich-
ard and Mari Chambers'ef Goderich
township, who survives him, as „at'
three: sons, Albert A. of Goderich -and

township; "'three .daughters, Mrs:'
