township, was` accidentally killed on
Sunday near Kingebrfdge. The family
were going to churoh when the team
became frightened and Mrs. Dalton at-

had one lag terribly lacerated by the
knife besides being otherwise injured.
While being taken home in a buggy
the team, unhitched from the mower
and left in charge of Mr. Irwin's young
son, got away from the lad and running
down the road dashed into the buggy,
breaking the injured man's shoulder:

We are this week called upon to
ohroniole the death of Mr, George Mo.
Millan, an aged and highly esteemed
r esident of Teeswater, who passed away
early Saturday morning, July 81st.
He was in his 82nd year, Mr. Mo -
Millan was not very widely known
about Teeswater, being a man of quiet
disposition and advanced in years when
he Dame to live there eight years ago.
He was a native of Ayrshire, Sootland,
where he was brought up to Parra work.
In 1855 he was married to Jean Bowie
who accompanied him to this country
in the same year, The following year
he moved into the township of Oarriok
and took up a farm on the Elora Road,
1X ,riles from Balaklava. On this
farm he lived, enjoying the respect and
esteem of all who knew him, until he
with bis helpmeet retired to spend their
last years beside heir daughter, Mrs.
Jas. Reddon on Brownlee St., Teeswater.

Mr. J, A. Morton presented the claims
of the Mechanics' Institute at the Coun-
cil meeting on Monday, and a grant of
$100 was generonely made to this
worthy object.
Mr. James Henry, from near Mar-
noob, brought into this office, a few days
ago, apeoimena of oats and hay that are
likely to head the list for this season,

and the hay 5 Peet 11 inches,
Mr. L. McLean, sawmiller, left a few
days ago to visit friends at Sidney,
Prince Edward Island, that being hie
native locality, whioh he has not visited
for many years.

The return cricket match between'
Teeswater and Wiugham was played
here on Tuesday afternoon on Recrea-
tion park, The game was watohed by a
large number of spectators. The result
