McGee & Campbell CLOTHING AND FURNISHINGS. GOUEiICH. The body of Patrick Nugent, who died Friday at London, was brought to town Saturday morning for interment here. The old man was for many years .a familiar figure about the streets of Goderioh, and for many years lived at the Colborne Hotel. For some time he had been confined to the hospital here, and a short time ago went to London. A suggestion that is receiving con- sideration by the council is that of watering the streets on the frontage tax system. Hitherto all the street water- ing that has been done has been con- fined to the business part of the town, and has been paid for out of the general taxes, but this is felt to be not wholly equitable, and many streets outside the business section of the town really re- quire sprinkling as mnoh as any. The bylaw to grant aid to the Ameri. can Roads Machinery Company of Can- ada, Limited, by way of guarantee bonds to the extent of $40,000, was given its first and second readings at the town council meeting Friday night, and the voting on the by-law will take plaoe on Saturday, September 11. The coal - pony expect to have their plant installed inside of about six months after the passing of the by-law, and have to show a valuation of $70,000 in order to secure the full amount of the guarantee. 6T.
