REPORT FROM THE ARTHRITIS SOCIETy
by Dawna Westlake
The Bayfield Branch of The Arthritis
Society reports that a total of $977.13 has
been raised in this year's campaign.
Through canvassing, $823.37 was collected.
and through coin jars in stores, Christmas
cards and pens, $153.63 was taken in.
Arthritis research is paying off in many ways.
One example of this is,that most people spend
only a few days in hospital because of arthri-
tis where, a few years ago, the treatment took
weeks or even months. Another area of remark-
able progress is in joint replacement, which
has become almost commonplace.
"A campaign is very much a team effort and
we would like to thank all those who helped
and all those who gave; said Joyce Chilton
and Dawna Westlake.
Donations may still be made by sending your
cheque made out to The Arthritis 5::'.'ry -
