MAY 13, Ian. - NOTES AND COMMENTS TOO MANY WOMEN SUFFER IN SILENCE When the Blood is Weak or Out of Order Disease is Inevitable. TILE WINGIIAM TIMES, MAY 13, 1909 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++ $ Royal Grocery OUR SALES Many women go through life suffer- ing in Bilonoe--weak, ailfng and unhap- py. The languor and bloodlessness of girls sad young women, with headaohes dizzinesa and fainting spells; the nerv- ous ailments, ba'k pains and failure of strength of wives and mothers; the trials that coma to all women at the turn of lite, are caused usually by impoverished watery blood. Dr. Williams' Pink Pills for Pale People have helped more women to the jay of good health and robeat strength than any other medioiue in the world. These Pills actually make new, rich, red blood, ereaches ved every part of the body, feeds the nerves, strengthens every organ, and makes weak girls and women bright and well. Mrs. A. Eagles, Dundee, Ont , says: -"I am writing this letter out of gratitude to let yon know 'the great benefit Dr. Williams' Pin ills have been to me. From the t'me I was a girl I suffered from weak ess and faint- ing spells -was always doctoring but it did not help me. As I grew older I seemed to grow wor6. My blood seem- ed literally tt;cno I would fai I suffered fr Sip t1Omentary eetimates for the car• rent fiscal year totalling $1.016 687, of , which $93 589 is chargeable to capital aocoar t, were presented ta Parliament on Monday by Mr Fielding. Hon. Mr Fielding's estimate in his budget speech that the revenue of the Dominion for the fiscal year closing March 31st last would be found, when j't MI returns were in, to be about eighty four and one half millions, has been ex- : geeded by over half a million. The accounts for the year will not be finally closed for a mouth or so yet, but up to the end of April the books of the Fin- ance Department show a total revenue of $85055,427. The general business situation in the west seems to be healthier and more en- .conraging than it has been for many months, and a confident tone is noted in the various departments of activity. The production of wealth has easily overtaken and passed consumption, and the surplus forms a basis upon which the toomniunity may work in liquidating old obligations and prosecuting further development. Growth and expansion are to be noted in all parts of the great territory between the lakes and the Pacific coast. o water, Sometimes often as twice a day. - indigestion. I could not walk upstairs without stopping to rest on the way, and my heart would palpi- tate so violently as to produce a smoth- ering sensation. I grew so weak that people thought I was in consumption. I was in this dreadful condition when Dr, Williams' Pink Pills were brought to my attention and I began taking them. The first sign of benefit I noticed was an improvement in my appetite. Theu I began to grow stronger; the Dolor began to return to my face; the fainting spells disappeared and gradual- ly I was brought bank to a condition of more perfect health than I had ever en- joyed before. This is what Dr. Wil- liams' Pink Pills have done for me, and that they have been of lasting benefit is proved by the fact that it is several years sinoe they restored my health, and I have remained strong and well ever since." Dr. Williams' Pink Pills are a cure for all troubles due to Impure or watery blood, such as anaemia, rheumatism, neuralgia, headaches and backaches, indigestion, St. Vitus dance, paralysis, eto. Sold by medicine dealers or by mail at 25 Dents a box or six boxes for $2 50 from the Dr. Williams' Medicine Go., Brookville, Ont. The sub -committee of the Public Accounts Committee, appointed at the instance ot Mr. Ames to examine var- ious items entered in the books of the Finance Department as' being among assets which went to reduce the net debt of Canada, have presented their report to Parliament. As a result of their revision of the balance sheet assets totalling $1,987,646 have been written off as worthless. They oonsiet in the main of non-recoverable Interoolonial Railway accounts and the non-ool- leotabie claims against defnnot banks. The defunct Bank of Upper Canada is responsible for $1,417,726 of the total amount eliminated. It is many years since a similar house-cleaning of bad debts was undertaken. As a result the net debt of the Dominion will be increased by $1,987,646. ARE INCREASING EVERY DAY IN Teas, Coffees and Groceries They are always fresh and the best that can be bought. Mr. A, Pollock is still confined to the house, but we hope he may soon be restored to his usual health. Mrs. J Wadel, of Whitechurch visit- ed her sister, Mrs R. Hamilton, and mother, Mrs. E. Mulligan, a few days last week. Mr. Jas. Straohan's health continues to improve as his many friends will be pleased to hear and hope he will Boon be around once more. The weather is very backward for seeding although the early sown grain is it pearance and also the young clovers so e it seems there must be some growth. The Montreal Witness, Independent Liberal, which in the majority of in- stances, takes a very fair view of po- litical questions, of the Dominion's fi- nanoial position and Mr. Fielding's budget, says: Daring the regime of the Laurier government the national debt has increased by 865,462,006, but as the Transcontinental has consumed $52,- 574,000 of this, the debt has only in- creased at the rate of about $1,000,000 a year. Considering the wonderful ex- pansion of Canada during that time, and the absolute neteuary proportion of increased expenses to carry on the busi- ness of the government, this showing might have been much worse. Mr. Fielding, however, recognizes that in- creased economy is now in orders, and a curtailing of expenses, and he estimates that the outlay for 1909 will be less by $30,000,000 than for 1908. Consider- ing the many calls upon the exohegatr, this is heroio paring. Mr. Fielding was able to announce that there will be no immediate increase in taxation, bat it would be well for the country to recog- nize that incressd taxation threatens in the near future. Mr. Fielding is to be congratulated upon the fact that be was not intimidated into raising the tariff duties. It 1e lower duties instead of higher that the country will insist upon at the next revision of the tariff, whenever that may be. $1.00 Wheat ser Live Stock Markets. Toronto, May 10. -Union Stook Yards -Business was slow at this market to- day, but there was apparently no easing off in prices from last week's levels. There was a run of 67 care of stock, all told, nearly all cattle, and about half of them exporters. Owing to a move on the part of the management, to establish a regular Tuesday market for export cattle, those in the market were held over for Tuesday. The trade in butcher cattle was confined to a small nnmber of buyers, most of those present prefer- ring to await the regular Tuesday mar- ket at the Oity Cattle Yards, where there will probably be a larger offering of cattle of all classes. For these rea- sons the amount of business transacted was of smaller volume than usual. ; he run of small stuff, sheep, hogs, and calves was small in each case, the amount of business consequently not affecting prices. Hogs are quoted steady to firm out- side at $7.25 f. o. b. The ran was 67 loads, with 1,481 head of cattle, 24 sheep and lambs, 26 hogs, and 36 calves.
