disappearance of the McGarry House,
stated that, as a• young pian he had
passed through Lucknow when fram-
ers were at work .on the timber for
the building.. That was in June of

idence at the Mill pond this after
noon, where, as our custom is on May

river flats and spent a pleasant after
noon, .angling for the wary trout.
On Saturday last almost 'eve

ented at the funeral of the late M
Paul Reid', who spent the greater par
of his life; and whose family gre
up. on the farm now owned by M
Jas. Colbert. ,
Mr. 'Reid moved to Lucknow som
fifteen years ago, but has arwwy
kept in close touch and sympathy wit
his former neighbors, his- amiable
cheerful disposition making him a fav-
orite with both old and young., The

their departed friend and to sympath-
ize with the sorrowing family, was
a tribute to the high esteem in which
he was held by all who knew him.

HYDRO ON THE MOVE
The following paragraph from the
tierlold and Times of Walkerton
gives some .information as to the ac-
tivities of the hydro engireei-s on the
line which is to supply Lucknow with
current.
"Several 'carloads of poles for the
Hydro people have been dumped
off at Walkerton .. and . work .. twill
commence, next. -:week in the con-
struc'tion` of a line from Hanover to
Kincardine, 'via ' the South Line,
Both . Lucknow and Kincardine have
been promised hydro juice by
nextfall, and the power com-
mission is getting busy to carry
out pledge. Walkerton, which passed
both the ,enabling and and money by-,
laws several years ago, sees Hanover
and other places that came into the
program later linked up long ago
with the system, and now towns that
