mony was held at the residence of. her
brother, ' D. J. 'Campbell and was per-
formed by. the Rev.U.G. Pybus, of Em-
press, to the presence of relati vc s and
friends. The bride locked very charm•
ing iu a gowu of white voile, After the
cereutony a wedding dinner was served.
The brides travelling suit was green

of Aug. 2nd: Last evening the silver
wedding anniversary r.f Mr. and Mrs. R.
D. Cameron of Lucknow was celebrated
at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Tay
lor, Sr., "Lakeview Farm," North Dum-
fries, wheu about 60 relatives gathered
to honor the event of 25 years ago.
Mrs Cameron is a native of Dumfries
and a sister of Mrs J. Taylor, Sr , Mrs.
Jos. Wrigley, Mrs. - W. H. Taylor of St.
George, Mrs. C. Jenkins of Manitoba,
and Mise Nellie M. Dryden of Galt.
A dainty supper was served nn the
lawn :or the bridal part of 25 years age
after which congratulations were extend-
ed. A short program of speeches was
given, Rev. G. K. Bradshaw of the Ain-
slie street Methodist church delivering
a congratulatory address. Other -speak-
ers were Messrs Cameron, 'Wrigley " and
J Taylor, Sr.
The evening was most pleasantly
spent in gales and music. -
LUCKNOW WON TOURNAMENT
Lucknow's base ball tearu -woza -the
tournament at the Teeswater Re -union
by defeating the crack team from Cargill
on Tuesday by a score of 8 1. The vic-
tory was quite a surprise ee _ WanyTex-
pected to see Cargill walk off -with sonie
easy prize money But the northern
team wasn't in it from the beginning
Gordon Erwin and MacLean Johnston
the I.uckuow battery got good support
in the field, and there was a great deal
of really clever playing, It was one of the
finest victories won by a Lucknow tear
in years, and with it went the first prize
of $65.00
Mr. D. Campbell returned to Toronto
on Tuesday after spending a couple of
weeks with his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
David Campbell, Gough St.
Mr. and Mrs. J. Sproat and daughter,
nurse Sproat, R N., A.N C., and Mr. R.
N. F. Jones, motored up from Seaforth
and spent a few days with Mrs. Sproat's
sister, Mrs. Paul Reid.
Mr. Ralph Millian, who was in Wing -
ham He epital the past month following
an oeperatioa for appendicitis, has so
far recovered as to be able to move out
with her easter, Mrs. W. Hamilton,

A BOLD THIEF
When WIN Kempton of the 12th (,'on.
A4hfield went to bis garage Wednesday
inorniug, he was surprised to find that,
some miscreant had visited the place
during the night and stolen the spare
tire from his auto, and also bad retf►ov-
ed a tire and inner tube frotn one of
the wheels and taken it away.

VOTERS' LISTS
The epeciel voters' list!+, being pre-
pared for the Province of Ontario, are
now completd so far as the enumerators'
work is c'►ncerned, and the lists now go
to the printers. 'l'wn hundred copies of
the list for each Municipality are to be
printed. Copies will be posted up for
inspection by the public and every anan
and woman who is interested iu having
his or her nave upon ,tile list should
examine the list to see that the name is
properly entered. 'This is the -only way
to snake sure that you will be entitled
to vote : when voting day comes The

that regard. Names can be added or
corrections made at a Court of Revision

age on Sept. 9th of this year.
Forms for the entering of names on

may be had from any municipal clerk.
Copies of the list will be sent to all
post masters and all members of muni-
cipal council boards.
---This information was given to repre-
sentatives of the county press by Judge
Klein who is a member --of the County
Board of Enumerators, and who will
preside at the courts of revision.
OBITUARY
The Hirriston Review had the follow-
ing artscle on the death of Mists Bertha
Blair which we briefly Mentioned last
week: Our town lost one of it brightest
and most promising young lives in the

of Miss Bertha Blair, eldest daughtei of

seventeen years of ase and had 'been .a
very ipdgstrious and successful student

since early in May, and her cheerfulness

though still quite young, she was a very
enthusiastic church worker, helping
particularly is the Mission Bandand in
the Girls' Bible Class, of which she Ica

was conducted at her parents' home on
Monday evening by Rev. Mr. Wright,
assisted by Rev. C. L Poole, of South-
ampton, both of whom paid - touching
tridutes to her memory.. The body was
taken to Lucknow, her former home, for
interment, the pallbearers being six of
her associates in the Mission Circle, .of
which she was a life member, and first
recording secr etary, Many beautiful
flowers, given principally by her girl
friends and classmates showed the high
place she held intheir esteem, and the
lasting memory of her which will always
remain in their hearts. Besides her
father and mother, two sisters and three
brothers are left to mourn het loss, and
to them and all her sorrowing relatives
goes out the syrnpathy of the whole cram -
'Miss Mae Mackenzie has returned
to her home in Chicago after visiting
relatives and friends here.
The many friends or Roddie Mac-
Lennan are pleased to know that the
operatic`n he recently underwent was
entirely successful.
Mrs "John MacRae is home after a
trip to Toronto. Mrs MacRae received
a message on Thursday of last week
from Flaxcombe, Sask. conveying the
sad news that her hrcther, Wm. Mac-
kenzie had died suddenly there that
morning.

were played here last week, A Ripley
team was over on Monday fel- an exhibi-
tion game, which resulted in another
victory for the home team, the score
being 7 2 Thursday evening saw the
,largest gathering ever seen in Lochalsh.
This was to see a return game between
Goderich and Lochalsh. Our team had
defeated Goderich on their own ground
on Peace Pay. Both teams played
good hall giving a fine exhibition of
clean sport. Walker, the home twirler,
entered the game without even warming
up, and, beside; pitching' a star ,game,
sccompllshed the rare and almost,
itnpnseihle feat of safely stealing home
plate. 'Geo. Blue also did good all
round work at second base. The game
ended with a score of 5-1 in favor of
Lochal h. The dances held in the hall
after each -game were larReTy attended
and all had a good, lively time. On
Thursday of this week our team is to
play Kincardine in the Lake •side Town,
and on Monday, the 1 l th, Teeswater is
expected here, -

A burglar who entered Murdoei S;
Cameron Co.'s store sometime between
Saturday, night and Monday morning
got away with $10.40 in chauge -left in
cog/Arm, He evidently siantetsiatier
only as there was no evidence that he
had taken or tampered with any of the
goods. He was keen on cash, however,
as he gathered up all the odd coppers

well, as he visited the two l• tab registers
and the safe. Aa littlarr obey is loft in
the safe, it is left unlocked. The thief
made his way into the store through a
window into the bs►sement and from the
basement into the store through a small
trap-door in the floor, used to drop
waste paper into the cellar. He was a
sort of decent thief as he spoiled noth-
ing, and broke uothing—just wanted a
bit of pocket money, and wished nobody
any harm.

There passed away at- his late resi-
dence, con. 14, Township of West Wa-.
wt ah, `on July 26;1914, David Gillies,
in his fifty-sixth year. The deceased
had been suffering for the past year and
a half from pernicious anernia and death
came at a great relief. Besides a _,wire
theme -left -to mourn the loss -of -a. dear
father . three daughters and one son.
Much sympathy is extended to the
family in their sad bereavement,

branch of the U.F.O which has made a
success of all its undertakings to date

the community by the way in which the
members of the organization purchased
and worked together to complete the
hall, which was moved to the Corners,
in which to hold their meeting and do
the business of the association, as well
as held meetings of public interest.
Enthusiasm was shown by all in the
way the members, their wives and
families turned out at the of3iciacopen-
ing of the 'Hall on.Jast Wednesday
evening, July 30th, to spend the early
part of the evening in athletic games
And the remainder in games, dancing
and social intercourse which .made the
affair enioy'able to all present.
Many gond things were said al'out
the organiz ttion and the new Hall, and
nearly all present have come to the,
conclustcln that it is as good, of not
better, than any Hall in these parts, if
not in any rural community. Great
