The Warton Echo tells the following
story of the arrest and trial of a fanner
Aid his wife of Albemarle Township,
who offered a bribe to secure the ex-
emption of a young Iran liable for mil-
itary service under the M.S.A:
Allegations of attempted bribery in
an effort to foil- the-, workineal the-

ferred against Christian -Krumholtz,
Albemarle, his wife, Harriet Krumholtz.,
and his brother -in law, James McCul-

Wilson prosecuted the case which was
heard before Magistrate Miller.
Evidende of the officers disclosed that
early last summer a letter was written
to the deputy registrar Offering him 8200
if he would secure the exemption of Mc
Culloch. This letter was over the sig-
nature of Christian Krnmholtz, who
swore that he knew nothing about it.
His wife, nader. cross examination, ad-
mitted that she had written it, signed
the name of her huaband to it, and
stated that he was 'not fully aware of
her action nor the contents of the letter
until two or three days after it had been
_paetecL . .
