SALT RHEUM CURED.
Mrs. John O'Connor, Burlington, N.S.,
writes :—" For years I suffered with Salt
Rheum. I tried a dozen different medi-
cines, but most of them only made it worse.
I was advised to try Burdock Blood Bit-

half a dozen doses I could see a change so I
continued its use and now I am completely
cured. I cannot say too much for your
wonderful medicine."
STOMACH COMFORT.
When the Stomach Rebels, Headache,
Indigestion and Nerve Pain Fol-
Tows—Mi-o-na Brings Relief.
Just as soon as yon are done eating
the healthy stomach commences to
churn the food around and mixes it
thoroughly with the juices of the
stomach.
If the food is not ohurned, it lays
heavily on your stomaoh, turns sour
and causes all kinds of distressing
symptoms, such as headache, indiges-
tion, stomach pain and dyspepsia.
Mi•o-na helps the stomaoh' to properly
mix the food.
John S. May, of Isabella Street,
Belleville, Ont., says: "For over seven
months I was in constant agony with a
ease of nervous dyspepsia and indiges-
tion that medical skill could not re-
lieve, I was weak and bad loot mnoh
weignt through loss of appetite and
suffering. My meals would fill me with
gas and a feeling of oppression morose
the stomaoh and all up the left side,
left me in a miserable condition. I was
restless at night and as tired and un -
refreshed in the morning as on going
to bed. A choking sensation in my
throat was always constant when lying
down, and my heart seemed to flutter
and pound as though ,11 were doming
out through my side. I was benefitted,
from the first two days' nee of Mi•o•na.

At the Annual Meeting 1n January, 1908, your Directors in their Report
to the Shareholders made reference to the unus 1 financial conditions then
prevailing and the policy which it was consider •+ advisable to pursue in
conducting the affairs of the Bank. Since t a marked change has taken
place—there has been a steady contraction n the trade of the country, and
the demand for banking accommodation as been limited, although we now
find an improvement in this r spect, can confidently look for a gradual
expari'sion in business. A c p so- ewhat above the average was harvested,
and the proceeds distributed hr..gh the country, which has tended largely
to increase deposits. From t causes just mentioned the Cash Reserves of
the Bank have been particularly strong for some months, and the percentage
of liquid assets Is exceptionally high.
In January, 1908, we took over Branches of the Sovereign Bank at Ba-
den, Linwood, Marmora, Mount Albert, New Dundee and Pefferlaw. The Pei-
ferlaw office was subsequently closed.
Branches have also been established at the corner of King and Went-.
worth Streets, Hamilton, on Upper Sherbourne Street, Toronto, and at Wawota,
Sask. It is our intention to shortly erect an office at the corner of St. Clair
Avenue and Vaughan Road, Toronto, where a site has recently been purchased.
Further expenditures have been made at Avenue Road Branch. Toronto,
at Fort William and Windsor, Ont., at the North End Branch, Winnipeg, at
Selkirk and Deloraine, Man., and at Grenfell and Regina, Sask., to an extent
fully warranted by the importance of the Bank's interests at' these points.
In connection with the issue of $1,000,000 of new Capital Stock in 1907, it
is worthy of note that the amount subscribed for has now been paid in full.
A Special Committee of. your Directors has completed the customary veri-
fication of the General Balance Sheet of the Bank as on 31st December, 1908,
including the certification of oar funds in the hands of Foreign Agents. They
have also examined and found correct the Cash Reserves, Investments and
Securities as shown on the Statement presented.
All Branches of the Bank have been thoroughly inspected during the ,
year.
E. 13. OSLER,
President.
The Report was adopted.
The thanks of the shareholders were tendered to the President, Vice -Pre-
sident and Directors for their services during the year, and to the General
Manager and other Officers of the Bank for the efficient performance of their
respective duties.
The following gentlemen were duly elected Directors for the ensuing
year: Messrs. A. W. Austin, W. R. Brock, James Carruthers. R. J. Christie,
J. C. Eaton, J. J. Foy, ICC., M,L.A., W. D. Matthews, A. M. Nanton and E. B.
Osler, M.P.
At a subsequent meeting of the Directors Mr. E. B. Osler, M.P., was elect-
ed President, and Mr. W. D. Matthews Vice -President for the ensuing term.

SALT RHEUM CURED.
Mrs. John O'Connor, Burlington, N.S.,
writes :—" For years I suffered with Salt
Rheum. I tried a dozen different medi-
cines, but most of them only made it worse.
I was advised to try Burdock Blood Bit-
ters. I got a bottle and before I had taken
half a dozen doses I could see a change so I
continued its use and now I am completely
cured. I cannot say too much for your
wonderful medicine."
STOMACH COMFORT.
When the Stomach Rebels, Headache,
Indigestion and Nerve Pain Fol-
Tows—Mi-o-na Brings Relief.
Just as soon as yon are done eating
the healthy stomach commences to
churn the food around and mixes it
thoroughly with the juices of the
stomach.
If the food is not ohurned, it lays
heavily on your stomaoh, turns sour
and causes all kinds of distressing
symptoms, such as headache, indiges-
tion, stomach pain and dyspepsia.
Mi•o-na helps the stomaoh' to properly
mix the food.
John S. May, of Isabella Street,
Belleville, Ont., says: "For over seven
months I was in constant agony with a
ease of nervous dyspepsia and indiges-
tion that medical skill could not re-
lieve, I was weak and bad loot mnoh
weignt through loss of appetite and
suffering. My meals would fill me with
gas and a feeling of oppression morose
the stomaoh and all up the left side,
left me in a miserable condition. I was
restless at night and as tired and un -
refreshed in the morning as on going
to bed. A choking sensation in my
throat was always constant when lying
down, and my heart seemed to flutter
and pound as though ,11 were doming
out through my side. I was benefitted,
from the first two days' nee of Mi•o•na.
I began *0 feel like myself again, my
appetite returned and the depressive
feeling left me. I oan enjoy my meals
without the least worry of after euf-
Tering. I have gained in weight and
