Live Stock Markets.
Toronto, Jan. 26.—City Cattle Mar-
ket.—The brisker tone to trade was
inaintained at this market to -day, and
prioes, if anything, were a little firmer
than yesterday, though, perhaps not
quotably higher.
Several good leads of export cattle
were offering to -day, and were sold at
good prices from $5 50 to $5.65.
Pinked choice butcher cattle sold
around $4.90 to $6, and in straight loads
From $4 to $4.65.
The demand for good butcher cattle
was active, and everything offering in
this class was soon pioked up at firm
prices.
Sheep and lambs --The demand for
lambs to -day is ateady, but for ewes and
bunks the demand has fallen off, and
prospects are for lower prices for the
next week or so.

higher. Select hogs at $6.40 f. o, h. and
$6 65 fed and watered.
Steady demand for butcher cows.
Good export steers and bulls 'wonted.
Miloh cows of good quality in demand,
common not much in demand.
Good veal calves steady.
The ran was 64 loads, with 1,047 head
of cattle, 500 sheep and lambs, and 74
calves, and 800 bogs.
