League of the Dannybroole church the

year: -President, Miss L. Campbell;
secretary, Miss Clara Craig; treasurer,

The annual oyster eupper given by
Court Donnybrook, alai, 652, 0. 0. F.,
was held on Thursday night, Jan. 7th,
at Robert Henry's, Marnooh. After
partaking of an excellent repast, the
evening was spent in games and amuse.

Court are to be congratulated on the

The first meeting of Council for 1909
was heli on Monday, Jan. 11th, the
members thereof being Wm. J. Parks,
Reeve, and James Coming, John Gil-
lespie, Peter W, Scott and Robert J.
McGee, Councillors. Having each
severally subscribed to the deolaratien
of qualification and of office, the Reeve
in the chair, the minutes of last meet-
ing in 1908 were read and confirmed.
Cuming-Scott,-That Alex. Porter-
field be re -appointed Clerk at his former
salary of $I10. -Carried.
Gillespie -McGee. --That Finlay An.
derson be re -appointed Treasurer at hie
former salary of $100, this amount to
include postage, eto.-Carried.
James W. Bone and John S. Scott
were appointed Auditors of township
accounts for 1908, salary $8 each.
Board of Health for 1909, the Reeve
and Clerk, Thos. Straughan re-elected
for 3 years, James McCallum and Jas.
McGee for 2 years and 1 year respect-
ively, Dr. Hamilton, Belgrave, M. H. 0.
On motion of Councillors Scott and
McGee, the Assessor's salary was
planed at $65, this amount to include
postage and stationery.
Cuming-Gillespie-That Wm. Rob-
inson bo again appointed Assessor for
the ourrent year.

The Clerk was instructed to again
order 7 copies of the Municipal World
for 1909 for use of the Connell, Clerk
and Treasurer.
By-law No. 1, 1909, ratifying the
appointment of Clerk, Treasurer, Audi-
tors and Board of Health for the our -
rent year, and Bylaw No. 2, 1909, ap-
pointing the Council road commission-
ers for 1909, both duly road and passed.
