It is that time of year. At Cavan Church on Sunday, the greeters and collectors were Brenda and Danielle Bernard. The Christ can- dle was lit by Susan MacDonald. Mary's children's story was about squirrels and birds' nests. The mes- sage was titled "Learning to Listen': Martin Cooper invented the cell phone 40 years ago. It was much larger than today's models. Technol- ogy today is amazing with the age of the internet, fax machines, etc. This is the age of communication. Birds and other creatures migrate. What tells them to go? We should find a quiet place to listen to God's voice and mes- sage. Carol Hunt served a snack after the service. Many crops are being harvested now as weather had prevented this previously. Each year brings different stages of harvesting. Two new ladies joined our knitting club on Thursday evening at Ruth Axt- mann's home. This is a social get together as well as a learning experi- ence. Anyone wishing to learn how to knit or crochet is welcome to join us. Contact Ruth for more info. Foodfor Thought If at first you don't succeed, read the instructions.
