Some members of Huron EMS got together on Aug. 29 to commit to the Ice Bucket Challenge
they were nominated for by the Grey County Paramedic Services. Collectively they raised just
over $1,800 and counting. Huron EMS nominated Perth County EMS and Manitoulin -Sudbury.
In addition, each member also nominated a couple of their colleagues or friends.

Day care fees increased
slightly
The fees for Tuckersmith
Day Nursery have been
increased slightly.
Huron East Council
approved a fifty -cent
increase at the Sept. 2 coun-
cil meeting.
As a Sept. 2, the fees for
programs were as follows;
• Toddler, full day $35.50,
half day $26.50
• Preschool, full day $34,
half day $25
• School -aged, full day
$24.50, half day 19
• Before school program
$11.50
• After school program
$13.50
The last fee increase for
the centre was in September
2012.
Mayor Bernie MacLellan
asked whether what the cli-
ent numbers for Tucker -
smith Day Nursery were,
adding that he would have
liked to have the day care
supervisor present to answer
questions.
Municipality could not
issue charitable receipts for
splash pad
If a proposed splash pad is
built at Lion's Park in Sea -
forth, Huron East would not
be able to issue charitable
receipts.
In a report given to coun-
cillors at the Sept. 2 meeting,
Huron East CAO Brad Knight
indicated the municipality
would have to be operating
the splash pad to issue
receipts.
Coun. Bob Fisher said the
Seaforth Lions Club should
be able to provide receipts if
the splash pad is built.

Nomination for the office of school board trustee
One (1) person to be elected to represent the electoral district of the
Township of Perth East, Municipality of North Perth
and Municipality of Huron East
Nominations/Registrations may be filed during regular business hours at the office of the Clerk
for the Municipality of Huron East, 72 Main Street South, Seaforth, Ontario NOK 1 WO, until
Friday, September 12th, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Nomination/Registration papers and full particulars
may be obtained at the Municipal Office.
A signed consent to the nominations, a declaration of qualification by the candidate, the $100.00
filing fee (cash, money order, certified cheque or debit machine) and identification of the
candidate are required.
Electors are hereby given notice that if a greater number of candidates are certified than are
required to fill the said offices, an election will be held. Voting Day will be Monday, October
27 , 2014.
Please be advised that no person who proposes to be a candidate may solicit or accept
contributions for election purposes, or incur expenses until that person's nomination has been
filed.
