The family of the late Ina McGrath would
like to express their thanks to family, friends
and neighbours for the outpouring of sup-
port shown to them following the passing of
their beloved mother, mother-in-law, grand-
mother and great grandmother. The
donations, flowers, cards, on-line condo-
lences, food and hugs are gratefully
acknowledged. Special thanks to Pastor
Steve Hildebrand for the touching and
memorable service and to Ina's church
family for their support. Thank you to the
staff of Falconer Funeral Home for both
their professional and personal guidance at
this time. Thank you to the pallbearers and
flower bearers who guided grandma to her
final resting place. To Ina's comrades, the
Legion Ladies Auxiliary we were very grate-
ful for the delicious lunch following the
service. Everyone's kindness is appreciat-

Thank you to the staff at Smackwater
Jacks, the paramedics, doctors and nurses
from the Exeter Hospital for their excellent
care. Thank you to our family, friends, our
community and church for the flowers,
cards, phone calls, cookies, muffins and the
wonderful meals. Thank you for the home
care, taking me to appointments, taking our
son to hockey and our daughter to ringette.
Without your help I could not have made it
through this last month. From the bottom of

SWINKELS
The loving support we received at the time
of the passing of our father, opa and great
opa, Peter Swinkels meant a great deal to
our family. Thank you for the flowers, dona-
tions, food and cards. Special thanks to
John, Sandy and Ruth of the McGlynn Fu-
neral Home and Fr. Brian McColl who
guided and comforted us through this diffi-
cult time. Thank you to the CWL for the
lunch provided after the service. To the staff
of Seaforth Community Hospital and Maple-
wood Manor Retirement Home thank you
for the support that dad received from all of

The family of the late George VanSteelandt

and food brought to our homes during this

the burial service and the Memorial Mass;

Dale of Londesborough in her 79th year.
Beloved wife of Milton Dale. Loving mother
of Carol & David McClure of Brodhagen
and Kathy Dale & Ralph Kirby of Nanaimo,
B.C. Grandmother of Stacey & Jonathan
Coward, Kirby & Daryl Pol, Brett McClure,
Danielle Rettie and great grandmother of
Lily, Justin and Sophia Coward, Luca,
Averianna and Levi Pol. Survived by sister
Lenora & Everett Lamont of Holyrood and
in-laws Shirley Dale, Betty Dale and Lorne
& Geraldine Dale. Also missed by nieces &
nephews. Predeceased by parents William
& Pearl Hamilton, sister Shirley & Murray
Lyon and in laws Helen & Harold Storey,
Leslie Dale and Lloyd Dale. At Helen's
request cremation has taken place and
there will be no visitation. A Memorial
Service was held at the Londesborough
United Church on Tuesday October 7, 2014
at 11:00 a.m. Private interment of ashes at
Clinton Cemetery at a later date. Donations
to the Londesborough United Church or a
charity of your choice would be appreciated
as expressions of sympathy. Arrangements

DeGROOT, (VAN GERVEN) (VAN
VUGT) Florentine (Tiny) - Florentina
(Tiny) DeGroot of Huronview Clinton,
passed away peacefully with family at her
side, at Huronview on Sunday, October 19,
2014, in her 96th year. Tiny was born in
The Netherlands in 1919. She is
predeceased by two husbands, Nickolas
Van Vugt, and John DeGroot, her daughter,
Ellie (Hans) Von Euw and several sisters,
and brothers. Beloved mother of Mickie and
her husband John Hamilton of Goderich,
and JoAnne and her husband Paul
Matthews of Seaforth. Dear sister of Harry
and Truss Van Gerven of The Netherlands.
Cherished grandmother of several
grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Also missed by members of her extended
DeGroot family. A funeral mass will be held
at St. James Roman Catholic Church,
Seaforth, on Wednesday, October 22, 2014
at 11 a.m. Interment of ashes at St. James
Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy
memorial donations to Huronview or the
Canadian Cancer Society would be

MITCHELL, Phyllis L. (Cuthill) - of
Brussels passed away at Seaforth
Community Hospital on Tuesday, October
21st, 2014. Born in Seaforth on May 23rd,
1930, Phyllis was in her 85th year. Phyllis
was the beloved wife of 65 years to
Emerson and will be sadly missed by her
children Gordon and Julie Mitchell of RR#3
Brussels, Ross Mitchell and Susan Reeves
of Ripley, Doug and Janet Mitchell of RR#3
Walton and Neil and Marie Mitchell of RR#3
Walton. Loving grandmother to Doug, Erin
and Shawn Walker, Holly, Rob and Tammy,
Mandy and Derek Dimaline, Jamie, Sean,
Emily, Sarah, Claire and loving great
grandmother to Kaden, Jack, James, Kylie,
Aiden, Abigail, and Lilian. Also loved by her
many extended family and friends. Friends
were received by the family from 2 to 4 and
7 to 9 PM Friday from the SCHIMANSKI
FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, Brussels. The
funeral service was conducted from Duff's
United Church, Walton, on Saturday,
October 25th at 11:00 AM with Pastor
Sandra Cable officiating. A remembrance of
Phyllis was given by her friend Neil
McGavin. As musical tributes, members of
the Storey family provided the prelude with
violin selections, her grandson Sean
accompanied organist Glenda Morrison
with the violin on all the hymns, and her
grandson Jamie piped the casket from the
church. Pallbearers were Ken Shortreed,
Brian Wilbee, Steve Beer, Debbie
Campbell, Don Fischer, Don Baan, Edith
Bacon, Brian McGavin and Jeff McGavin.
Burial took place in Brussels Cemetery with
the assistance of the Brussels Legion Pipe
and Drum Band. As an expression of
sympathy, memorial donations to Duff's
United Church or the Canadian Cancer
Society would be appreciated by the family.

peacefully with his loving family by his side
at Clinton Public Hospital on Friday,
October 17, 2014. David Paul Miller of
Varna was in his 62nd year. Beloved
husband of Marg (nee Franken) Miller for
26 years. Loving dad of Barbie Weeks
(Ryan) of London, Carolyn Miller (Neil
Hanna) of Auburn, Jonathan Miller (Becky)
of Vanastra, Amanda Miller (Brad Bernard)
of Varna and David Miller of Varna. Proud
Poppa of Casey, Donny, Elizabeth, Owen
and Katlyn. Dear son-in-law of Emma
Franken of Goderich; brother of Kathleen
Stone (Web) of Vanastra, Keith Miller of
Seaforth, John Miller (Linda) of Mount
Hope, Marlene Parr (Roy) of St. Pauls, Patti
Miller (Dave) of St. Pauls, Donna May Miller
(Tom) of Mitchell; and brother-in-law of
Harry Franken (Charlene) of Ingersoll, Ed
Franken (Bonnie) Teeswater, John Franken
of Uxbridge, Paul Franken (Lorraine) of
Clinton, Mike Franken of Dungannon, Tom
Franken (Sue) of Goderich, Dave Franken
(Lisa) of Blyth and Mary Anne Millian of
Bayfield. Dave will also be missed by many
aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins
and dear friends. Predeceased by his
parents Russell and Grace (nee Wallace)
Miller; father-in-law John Franken; and
brother Ken Miller. Dave founded, owned
and operated D & D Glass and Mirror in
Vanastra for 33 years. Visitation was held
at MCGLYNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME,
Seaforth, 519-527-1390, on Monday,
October 20th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A
Funeral Mass for Dave was held at St.
James Catholic Church, Seaforth, on
Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at 11 a.m. Fr.
Brian McColl and Dcn. Brian McDonald
officiated. The Pallbearers were Jonathan
Miller, David Miller, Bill Weiss, Art
Wakefield, Keith Miller, Johnny Miller,
Wayne Sterling, Eddie Franken; and the
Flower Bearers were Linda and Rochelle
Franken, Tammy, Katie, Kelly and Crystal
Miller. Interment took place at Egmondville
Cemetery and a reception followed at the
Seaforth Agriplex. Memorial donations to
the Clinton and Wingham Hospitals or to an
education trust fund for Dave's
grandchildren would be appreciated and
