Brussels Cadet Corps Youth Dance Challenge
2967 Brussels Army Cadet
Corps presents their first
annual fundraising event,
"Youth Dance Challenge
Watch six couples compete
in the dance challenge similar
to Dancing with the Stars of
911 and Dancing with the
Stars of Huron County except
participants are only 13 to 18
yrs old. You will also have an
opportunity to vote for your
favorite couple.
The Youth Dance Challenge
consists of six local army
cadets who have been paired
up with six professional and
experienced dancers from
Dance Techniques. Cadets are
nervous, but excited and keen
to have the opportunity, not
only to help the corps for
needed items, but for the expe-
rience and challenge they are
undergoing. The professional
dancers are very excited to be
workingwith the cadets. They
are able to create their own
choreography which will help
them to advance their teaching
skills while having fun, build-
ing new friendships and doing
what they love. The event is a
good way to intermix different
youth activities.
The federal government
does not provide full funding
and cutbacks have been
affecting the activities of the
local cadet corps.
The event will take place
on Sat. Oct. 25 at the Brus-
sels Legion, at 620 Turnberry
St., Brussels. Cocktails are
from 5 until 6 p.m., dinner is
from 6 until 7 p.m., and the
main event begins at 7:30
p.m. Cost is $35 per ticket.
