Scavenger hunt shows off history of Vanastra
Photos by Dave Flaherty QMI Agency
It was a trip down memory
lane on Sat., Oct. 18, as the
Vanastra Community Events
Committee hosted a scavanger
hunt within the village.
Committee member Michelle
Dunn said they were hoping to
show off some of the history of
the former RCAF Clinton. There
were nine locations spread
amongst the village.
One of the locations
was that of the former
arena within the
base (destroyed in a
fire), which was the
home of the Clinton
Thunderbolts.
Another of the
locations, the
former mess
hall where many
special dinners
were held
including the
annual Christmas
dinner and Apr.
1, which was
used to mark the
opening of the
1924 founding of
the RCAF.
The stone pillars and iron gates that were designated in 1984.
The Radome, also known as the "Golf Ball" to civillians.
TO THE ELECTORS OF TUCKERSMITH
IN HURON EAST
Re-elect a strong voice
LES FALCONER
as your Council Representative
for Tuckersmith Township
With my past experiences I feel that I have a good
working knowledge of Huron East. Since this area is
one of the largest Agricultural areas in Huron County,
I feel that I can bring a lot of knowledge forth to the
Council for discussion and decision making. I am
a good listener and make myself very available for
contact regarding issues in Tuckersmith and Huron
East. Huron East has gone to online/ phone voting.
If you need assistance please call 519-233 5393
or email falconspring@tcc.on.ca
On Oct 27, Election Day, the Huron East Town Hall
will also be available to help.
Kindest regards,
Les Falconer
