Huron Expositor, 2014-10-22, Page 19Wednesday, October 22, 2014 • Huron Expositor 19 Scavenger hunt shows off history of Vanastra Photos by Dave Flaherty QMI Agency It was a trip down memory lane on Sat., Oct. 18, as the Vanastra Community Events Committee hosted a scavanger hunt within the village. Committee member Michelle Dunn said they were hoping to show off some of the history of the former RCAF Clinton. There were nine locations spread amongst the village. One of the locations was that of the former arena within the base (destroyed in a fire), which was the home of the Clinton Thunderbolts. Another of the locations, the former mess hall where many special dinners were held including the annual Christmas dinner and Apr. 1, which was used to mark the opening of the 1924 founding of the RCAF.
