The grad breakfast is a large, free meal that is prepared by the parent adviser council. This meal is actually prepared for school graduates and staff alike. After that, the grad rehearsal prepares the students for the co- ordination of the later ceremony. Some hours after that, the 2 -hour long grad ceremony begins. During this event, sponsored awards and diplomas are given out to the graduat- ing students and the students' future plans are mentioned. Perhaps the most prestigious awards are the Catholic Student of the Year and the Governor-General awards, which are awarded to the top stu- dents. During the ceremony, a valedictorian that is elected will also make a speech and students will read letters they had written in grade 9 to their grade 12 selves. •to ` Graduation can be a fun but stressful time Written by: Shari Evans Central Huron Seaconary School The preparations for graduation can be stressful for anyone: the students, parents or teachers. Students have the pressure of finding what they need to wear to prom and the fear of moving on to a big part of their life. Parents have the stress of letting their child move out and start college or university possibly in a different city. Teachers have the stress of setting up the ceremony, getting all the students in line and making sure they have everything they need for the big night. Since I am only in grade 11, I am not getting prepared for graduation just yet. However, I have attended my brother's graduation which was an experience that I'll always remember. Seeing my brother graduate was fun but also sad because I knew he would be going off to university soon afterwards. I could see how stressful it was on my family to see their first child get his diploma. There were tears, of course, like there probably are in many other families at graduation time. r i7 We wish a world of happiness to our Grads Vanden Heuvel Structures Lid. 1 COMMERCIAL AND AGRICULTURAL BUILDINGS 40 WELLINGTON STREET, CLINTON OFFICE HOURS: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm 519-482-9666immy FAX (519) 482-8966 1-4 NCERE BEST WISHES TO E GRADUATING CLASSES FOR 2014 on behalf of the Council and the employees of the Municipality of Central Huron, we wish you continued success Afir rad Huro,j "'Lke p Up Lhc jr42i l work.
