Students celebrate
Anti -Bullying week
1‘ St. Anne's
r school news
Colin Dobson,
Minister of Public Relations
Approaching late Novem-
ber, it seems as though the
snow has officially hit.
This week at St. Anne's,
students from the Catholic
elementary schools of Huron
County gathered for the
annual volleyball tourna-
ment between Grade 7 and 8
students. Graduation photo
sessions have begun for sen-
ior students, too. These ses-
sions offer students and their
families an opportunity to
look back on their final year
of high school in their gradu-
ation attire.
The Vow of Silence began
at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Nov.
20. Student participating had
the choice to abstain from
verbal communication or
the use of social media such
as Twitter or Facebook. The
Vow of Silence helps raise
awareness of injustice across
the world, and helps us rec-
ognize the important of free
speech. The vow ended at 3
p.m. and was directly fol-
lowed by the Break the
Silence Rock Concert where
St. Anne's students gathered
in the gym to enjoy an even-
ing of music.
Our Anti -Bullying week
was a great success as we
focused on gossip, respect-
ing differences and ensuring
that our language is polite
and respectful.
Our Advent Campaign
begins this week as we col-
lect teen gifts for the Christ-
mas bureau, Room to Grow
items for babies and warm
clothes for local charities.
Our Co-op students will put
on a fair on Tuesday, Nov. 25
to teach us about their place-
ments and our Students for
Social Justice begin their
campaign, Sow Much Love.
