Manufacturing excellence in Huron County recognized Dave Flaherty QMI Agency The best and brightest of Huron County's manufacturing sector were on display on Nov. 13, during the ninth annual Huron Manufacturing Awards, which took place at the Hen- sall and District Community Centre. More than 200 guests attended the event, which was hosted by the Huron Manufacturing Association (HMA). Frank Palen, HMA chair, said the annual event serves as a way to rec- ognize "those who are doing a lot for their county and their communities?' Members of the public submit nominations and then a three-person committee selects winners. Michiels Treasurer - Finance Manager Both Seaforth and Huron East were well represented as Brett and Brian Landsborough of Maelstrom Winery (Junior Manufacturer), Switch Energy Board (Green Leader) and the Village of Vanastra Revival Project (Out- standing Associate Member) all received awards. The Manufacturer of the Year Award went to Blyth Farm Cheese. Joost VanDorp of Blyth Farm Cheese also won the Junior Manufacturer Award. Ron and Ruth Schefter of Wingham won the Chairman's Award of Leadership.
