Bus driver alleged to have been dangerous behind the wheel
Earlier this week Huron
County OPP charged a
school bus driver with dan-
gerous operation of a motor
vehicle from an incident
stemming back to April 14.
At approximately 4:30 p.m.
Huron OPP received com-
plaints of an Elliot Coach
Lines school bus that was
being driven in an erratic
manner.
Police said officers were
able to stop the school bus
on Clyde Road in Bluevale.
Upon speakingwith the male
driver officers noted he had
been drinking alcohol, police
said.
A roadside test was com-
pleted and the driver regis-
tered a warn range suspen-
sion. He was served with an
automatic three-day
suspension.
According to police, inves-
tigators have since reviewed
additional information and
have determined the motor
vehicle was operated in a
manner that was dangerous
to the public, including the
10 students that were on
board at the time of the stop.
As a result the 50 -year-old
bus driver from Listowel has
been charged.
He has a court appearance
scheduled for the Ontario
Court of Justice in Goderich
on June 2.
Bluewater male faces
charges after being
pulled over in Bayfield
A 22 -year-old male from
Bluewater is facing impaired
driving charges following a
traffic stop on April 26.
Just before 3:00 a.m. a
Huron County OPP officer
observed a blue Oldsmobile
travelling southbound on
Bluewater Veteran's
Highway.
The officer noted the vehi-
cle was swerving within and
outside of the marked lane of
travel.
Police said the suspect

vehicle was stopped on
Euphemia Street in the vil-
lage of Bayfield to check on
the sobriety of the driver.
According to police, upon
speaking with the driver the
officer determined the driver
had been drinking alcohol
and his ability to drive a
motor vehicle was impaired.
The driver was placed under
arrest for Impaired Driving
and was transported to the
Huron OPP Detachment for
breath tests.
He provided samples of
his breath to a qualified
intoxilizer technician and
the samples registered above
the legal limit.
As a result, the accused
has been charged with
impaired driving and drive
motor vehicle - over 80 mil-
ligrams of alcohol.
He has a court appearance
scheduled for the Ontario
Court of Justice in Goderich
on June 2.
He received an automatic
90 -day driver's licence sus-
pension and his motor vehi-
cle was impounded for seven
days.
Central Huron man
suffers life threatening
injuries in crash
Just before 3:30 a.m. Huron
County OPP, Huron County
EMS and the Goderich fire
department personnel
responded to a single motor
vehicle collision on Black's
Point Road near Huron
Road.
According to police, the
driver of a Dodge Ram
pickup was travelling east-
bound on Black's Point Road
when he failed to negotiate a
curve in the road.
His vehicle left the road-
way and struck a hydro pole
on the east side of the road.
The driver, 31 -year-old
Corey Austin from Central
Huron was transported to
hospital in London with life
threatening injuries.
Officers from OPP Techni-
cal Traffic Collision Investi-
gation (TTCI) were on the
scene currently investigating
later that day.
Black's Point Road was
closed between Huron Road
and Porter's Hill Line.

Central Huron man
facing stunt driving
charges
A 21 -year-old male driver
is facing a charge of stunt
driving following a traffic
stop in Clinton on April 27,
2014.
According to police, at 1:10
a.m. a Huron County OPP
officer observed a GMC
Sierra pickup travelling west-
bound on Huron Road when
the driver turned south-
bound onto Victoria Street in
an erratic manner.
The vehicle slide sideways,
fishtailed and accelerated
southbound out of the inter-
section before it was stopped,
police said.
As a result, the accused
male from Central Huron has
been charged with stunt
driving contrary to section
172 (1) Highway Traffic Act.
His driver's licence was
suspended for seven days
and his motor vehicle was
impounded for seven days.
He has a court appearance
scheduled for June 17 at Pro-
vincial Offences Court in
Goderich.

Goderich man and
woman facing charges
of possession of weed,
coke and meth
A 35 -year-old man and
21 -year-old woman from
Goderich are facing numer-
ous drug-related charges.
On Friday, April 25, Huron
County OPP and a number
of other OPP teams executed
a search warrant at a resi-
dence located on Newgate
Street.
Police said the officers
seized marijuana, metham-
phetamine, cocaine, and
offence related property that
consisted of trafficking para-
phernalia and cash.
The estimated combined
street value of the controlled
substances is $1,180.
Police said they also seized
suspected stolen property
and two replica firearms that
are being analyzed as part of
the ongoing investigation.
Both of the accused were
each charged under the Con-
trolled Drugs and Substances
Act with possession of a con-
trolled substance for the pur-
poses of trafficking (mari-
juana), possession of a
controlled substance
(cocaine), possession of a
controlled substance
(methamphetamine).
Both are also facing
charges of fail to comply with
a probation order contrary to
the Criminal Code.
The 35 -year-old man was
scheduled for a court
appearance in Goderich on
April 29.
The 21 -year-old woman
has been released from cus-
tody with a court appearance
scheduled in Goderich on
June 9.
