Here are some things St.
James School is learning
about. Some of the things are
pretty interesting so you
might want to read ahead.
The junior and senior kin-
dergarten class is learning
their letters and how to be
nice. The sk/1 class is learn-
ing time and money. They
are also sharing what they
are learning with friends
after they are playing. The
grade 2/3 class is learning
about farming and adding
and subtracting money.
The grade 3/4 class is
learning about Ancient Egypt
and multiplication.
The grade 4/5 class is
learning autobiographies
and pulleys and gears.
The grade 7/8 class is
learning about Lent and also
cells.
That is what we are doing
at St. James School.
Oh, and you might want to
read next week too, it might
be even more interesting.

Course selections were due this week
for students attending St. Anne's next
year.
The grade 10s have continued with their
preparation for the Literacy Test next
week and the test will take place March
25, for students all across Ontario.
This week marked the end of the Math-
letes, with their final test on Tuesday.
Congratulations to all participants and
keep up the great math skills.
Friday was also the end for the Bear
Necessities project here at St. Anne's. The
Bear Necessities project involved staff
and students bringing in new or gently
used stuffed animals and teddy bears for
a donation to the children's hospital.
Thankyou to everyone who donated.
Solidarity Day took place this week on
Wednesday and it was a paid civvies day
for students. Each homeroom class was
responsible for making a flag based on
their given country or region. Each coun-
try or region is facing hard times and cur-
rently receiving outside support. The
posters were to reflect that country or
region and their current issue or situa-
tion. Each homeroom was also asked to
dress like their country's flag or like the
people from their specific country or
region.
