A busy week at St. James St. James school news Taylor Rolleman Grade 4 Here are some things St. James School is learning about. Some of the things are pretty interesting so you might want to read ahead. The junior and senior kin- dergarten class is learning their letters and how to be nice. The sk/1 class is learn- ing time and money. They are also sharing what they are learning with friends after they are playing. The grade 2/3 class is learning about farming and adding and subtracting money. The grade 3/4 class is learning about Ancient Egypt and multiplication. The grade 4/5 class is learning autobiographies and pulleys and gears. The grade 7/8 class is learning about Lent and also cells. That is what we are doing at St. James School. Oh, and you might want to read next week too, it might be even more interesting. Wednesday, March 26, 2014 • Huron Expositor 9 Back to classes at St. Anne's St. Anne's school news Claire Gordon Minister of Public Relations The staff and students were right back to work this week after March Break. Course selections were due this week for students attending St. Anne's next year. The grade 10s have continued with their preparation for the Literacy Test next week and the test will take place March 25, for students all across Ontario. This week marked the end of the Math- letes, with their final test on Tuesday. Congratulations to all participants and keep up the great math skills. Friday was also the end for the Bear Necessities project here at St. Anne's. The Bear Necessities project involved staff and students bringing in new or gently used stuffed animals and teddy bears for a donation to the children's hospital. Thankyou to everyone who donated. Solidarity Day took place this week on Wednesday and it was a paid civvies day for students. Each homeroom class was responsible for making a flag based on their given country or region. Each coun- try or region is facing hard times and cur- rently receiving outside support. The posters were to reflect that country or region and their current issue or situa- tion.
