It was an afternoon full of
international spirit as the staff
and students of St. James cele-
brated the Olympic and Paral-
ympic games on March 6.
Students were encouraged to
enjoy the sun and snow with
some great winter activities, all
while in teams representing
countries from all over the
world.
Principal Karen Tigani said it
was important to celebrate the
unique gifts and talents of each
and every person and encourage
everyone to try new things, to do
their personal best, and to
always strive to live a life marked
by St. James' mission of faith,
fun and being a good friend and
family member.
"We followed the Sochi 2014
Olympics with great excitement,"
she said, explaining students
counted medals and wrote
poems, prayers and reflections
on the various events, athletes
and role models, something the
school felt shouldn't end after
the first games.
Seeing no reason to stop fol-
lowing events with the Paralym-
pics still to come, St. James
decided to keep the momentum
going.
"We wanted to celebrate all of
our country's elite athletes and we
want to highlight for our students
that all students can be involved in

"We saw the Paralympics as
