With the tempera- ture settling into single dig- its, the game didn't disappoint. The visiting Eagles jumped to a quick 2-0 lead before the 10 -minute mark with Cole and Colton scoring. The home side would immediately respond to cut the lead in half. Nolan would add a marker mid- way through the first half for a 3-1 lead at the break. Jacob squeezed a shot in from a dis- tance to give Seaforth the upper hand with a score of 4-1 Although St. Columban would respond with one of their own, Seaforth headed back home with a 4-2 win. Special men- tion to the girls who played LET'S ALL DO OUR PART! PLEASE RECYCLE. well in holding off the strong surges from the home side. [Ram_ AN June 17 Seaforth — 4 Goderich Ideal Supply — 2 Goals Scored : Colton Bach- ert (2) and Nolan Gagnier (2) Back on their home pitch, Seaforth knew another tough opponent was on tap in the visitors from Goderich. Col- ton would break the ice with a goal just a few minutes in and add a second to give the Eagles a 2-0 score at the end of the first half. Goder- ich then scored just into the second half and a tight bat- tle was on with great scoring opportunities at either end. Nolan made it on the score sheet to restore the two goal lead, but Goderich responded on the next rush down the field to cut the score to 3-2. With approximately 10 min- utes left in the game, Nolan added his second goal of the night to give the home team, and its good number of spec- tators, a 4-2 and the whis- tle would blow to end the game with the same score. A strong performance from the entire team as they con- tinue to improve on the year. U14 GIRLS June 16 Seaforth — 1 Clinton — 0 Goals Scored : Kiera Agnew The Screaming Eagles con- tinued to play well as a team and carried the play in the Clinton end for much of the game, but were unable to capitalize on their chances. With time winding down in the match and a 0-0 score looming, Dakota Bachert made a cross from the right corner which made it's way through the box where Kiera with one lovely touch bur- ied the ball in the left side of the net resulting in some serious celebrating from the Orange and their fans. The game ended two min- utes later to seal the deal. Strong defensive play from all the girls in their fourth clean sheet out of five. June 19 Seaforth — 3 Blyth — 1 Goals Scored : Dakota Bachert, Jillian Nixon and Savannah Veenstra On a perfect night for soccer, the Eagles were looking to extend their unbeaten streak against Blyth, who had played them tough a few weeks earlier. Again Mil much of the time spend in the Blyth end in the first half, it was mid -way through the first frame when from outside left, Dakota let a rocket go for a 1-0 lead for the visitors. Car- rying that lead into the second half, Savannah, with a deft touch, sent Jillian in to fire a lovely shot which curled its way into the top right comer. Just a couple of min- utes later, Savannah would dangle several times going in and beat- ing the goalie for a 3-0 lead. Hon- ourable mention to Rachel Bon- taine, who just missed getting on the score sheet with some strong play in the central midfield posi- tion. While Blyth would put one past the goalie well into the second half, strong play from all the mid - fielders and fullbacks would limit scoring chances and the Eagles would finish with a 3-1 victory and a 6-0 record to start the season.
