fought game. The girls are looking

The temperatures are cooler
than some Julys, but
comfortable.
As Northside and Cavan
have no services in July, I have
been attending Egmondville
United Church on Sunday
mornings. Pastor Steve's Sum-
mer Preaching Series is "Siz-
zling, Scandalous Stories from
Scripture."
Several couples from Win-
throp area have returned from a
trip to Alaska. Gordon and Irma
Pryce, Doug and Gail Schroeder,
Jim and Ann Bosman, Ed and
Mary Salverda, Murray and San-
dra Pepper, Joan Stewart and
Joyce Ribey enjoyed this 16 -day
trip. They travelled from Van-
couver to Whitehouse and
toured the city and saw a can-
can show. Next stop was Daw-
son City which has dirt roads
and wooden sidewalks. They
also tried panning for gold. At
this time of year there are 22 hrs.
of daylight.
They took a barge across the
Yukon River to Fairbanks and
Anchorage. They saw dog sled-
ding and summer dog mushing.
They also saw where one street

earthquake. They took a cruise
with stops at Haines, Juneau and
Ketchikan. It was too cloudy to
see Mt. McKinley. They also took
a scenic train trip in the White-
horse Pass area.
They watched the summer
mushing of dogs preparing them
for a 1,000 mile race.
They had a great trip and great
weather with temperatures in
the 70s.

Was very excited to receive her "Iron Ring" upon graduating from Queen's
University in Electrical Engineering with second class honours. She received the
Engineering Society Award and induction into the Order of the Purple Knights.
Mom and Dad, Teresa and Martin Van Raay miss her a lot as she starts her
new career in Fort McMurray, Alberta, as a Reliability Engineer with Syncrude
Canada Ltd. Stephanie is the Granddaughter of Marie Hicknell-Feeney.
