Helping kids play safe
Hydro One's Tony VandenBoomen presented a
cheque for $10,000 to the Bayfield Optimist Club Jan.
14, at the Bayfield Public Library.
The donation, which will go towards installing an
ultraviolet light purification system for the village's new
splash pad, was given as part of Hydro One's Powerplay
Program, which provides grants for local facilities
where the primary purpose is to support children's
community sports and active play.
"We're happy to be able to support the program," said
VandenBoomen, adding after growing up in Huron
County, it was nice to be able to come home and do a
little something extra for the community. "It's always
great to be able to take the opportunity to return good-
will to the community that supports us."
