Our temperatures have certainly been chilly but as I write this on Friday, the sun is shining. Snow blowers and plows are getting used this year. At Cavan Church on Sunday, greeters and collectors were Doug and Gail Schroeder. Joan Stewart lit the Christ candle. The children's story was about "Gifts." The manger scene at the front of the church was completed by the Sunday school children. Mary's message was about "Gifts" - gifts of the Magi, of Mary and Joseph, of the prophets and of God. Sacrifices are involved in giving gifts. Cavan's annual meeting will be Feb. 16, with worship in the morning then lunch, with the meeting taking place in the afternoon. Don Dodds announced the arrangements have been made for services from Jan. 10 - May 2, while Mary is away. Our family had our Christmas get-together at the home of Doug and Vicki Campbell and girls in Winthrop. We need a good size home for all the members. Food for Thought: When a man is singing in the shower, it means the kids didn't use up all the water.
