The parade route was lined with excited residents, both young and old. Santa listened to the Christmas wishes of more than 80 youngsters at the Legion after the parade. The club's contribution to the gover- nor's Cycle Recycle project, which saw 10 used bicycles from each Lions Club for refurbishing and distribution over- seas, was completed during the first week of November. Using social media, our request for donated bicycles was answered within four days of posting. Many thanks to the supporters of this project. Several Lions, along with their wives and friends, got together to stamp, fold, staple and sort 11 weeks worth of TV bingo cards. The Dublin and Mitchell Lions Clubs also each prepared 11 weeks worth of cards. The Seaforth bingo team of Lions Rick Albrecht, Doug Elliott and Cathy Effiott worked the Nov. 19 TV bingo, but weren't able to give away the jackpot. Lion Cathy Elliott was pre- sented with her 25 -year pin by Lion President John Snell. Donations of $2000 to the Participation Lodge and $100 to Lions Camp Kirk Foundation were approved. Ticket sales for the club's 45th annual elimination draw are going well, with 105 of the 500 already sold for the June 20, 2015, event. Each $60 ticket provides a half -chicken dinner for two, dancing to the band Dianne and the Cavaliers and $8190 in cash prizes. Please contact Lion Bob Beuttenmiller for tickets at 519-527-0282. When the weather got rainy, stu- dents had the option to lounge at their hotel and make use of the public pool and billiard tables. However, the main highlight of the retreat was practicing with, and learning from, Carpenter. A former music teacher with the Toronto District School Board, Carpenter has plenty of experience with musical training. Before his recent retirement, his bands performed at large venues such as Massey Hall and he is now a sought-after band clinician and adjudicator. Now that the concert band at St. Anne's has learned from the best, it is more than ready for its upcoming per- formances in December. St. Anne's gets ready for the Christmas season St. Anne's School News Colin Dobson Minister of Public Relations December has begun and the Christmas spirit is upon us. Plenty of events are transpiring at the school before the Christmas break begins. One such event is St. Anne's annual Evening of the Arts. This event featured various musical and theatrical performances from St. Anne's students. There was also a variety of artwork to observe. Tickets for the Semi Formal dance at St. Anne's have also started to go on sale. The theme for Semi Formal this year is based off the novel, The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. This novel embodies the iconic jazz era of the 1920s. ,'LET'S ALL DO OUR PART! ah PLEASE RECYCLE ESTHETICS BY BONNIE Bonnie Johnston Gift Certificates Available 519-527-1719 92 West William St Seaforth, ON NOK 1.WO Approaching Christmas, Students for Social Justice have begun selling Fair Trade items during lunch.
