Campbell family hosts annual get-together at Winthrop Ballpark
Ruth Campbell
Winthrop correspondent
Less than two weeks before
school starts again - where did
the summer go?
The first hymn sung at Cavan
on Sunday was "A Mighty Fortress
is our God' It was written by Mar-
tin Luther many years ago.
Mary's message was titled
"Demons? Oh Dear." She posed
different questions such as what
thought is bothering me and
what disappointment in life do I
have." We should displace
disappointment by new hope.
Sorrow should be replaced by
helping someone else in their
sorrow. Anger should be dis-
placed in a healthy way.
The family of Beatrice
Campbell recently held their
get-together at the Winthrop
ballpark. The weather was
great and only a few members
were absent.
A surprise birthday party was
held for Sandra Morey at Brent
Ribey's in Seaforth. Her birthday
isn't until November so she cer-
tainly wasn't expecting it. This
year is a special milestone for
her. A good crowd was in
attendance.
Food for Thought
Give someone a compli-
ment today; tomorrow may
be too late.

THREE-BEDROOM FAMILY HOME
In this three-bedroom family home,
with its dormer windows and covered
porch, the master suite is located on the
ground floor, a boon for those who don't
want to climb stairs.
The suite overlooks the back garden for
privacy, and includes a doorway to the
back patio, which features an outdoor
fireplace. There is a roomy walk-in
closet and a spacious ensuite with a
soaker tub, a shower stall and double
basins, as well as a special area for
applying make-up.
The great room boasts a dramatic
sloping ceiling, as well a gas fireplace,
which will spread its warm glow into
the kitchen and dining room on chilly
evenings; large windows look out to the
patio. The dining room has a doorway
to the patio, encouraging outdoor living
during the warmer months. An optional
built -out buffet will provide extra storage
space and make serving meals easier.
The kitchen is separated from the dining
area and great room by an angled
eating bar fitted with a double sink.
The L-shaped counter configuration
will save steps for the cook. A spacious
pantry, ideal for storing staples, will help
to cut down on trips for groceries.
Next to the foyer is a study with a wide -
sill window that overlooks the covered
front porch. This room is ideally located
for a home office, and could double as
a guest room. The laundry room, with
access to the double garage, includes
a coat closet for family gear. A linen
cupboard is located nearby, around the
corner from a two-piece powder room.
Upstairs, the secondary bedrooms share
a three-piece bath and a linen cupboard.
One bedroom has a partial sloping
ceiling. Across from the stairwell is a
display cabinet. Beyond the stairwell,
the space is open to the great room
below.
Exterior finishes include vertical wooden
siding, wooden shingles and painted
woodwork. Two wooden pilasters, with
fieldstone bases, mark the covered
porch. Metal roofing protects the twin
dormer windows.
This home measures 42 feet wide and
57 feet deep, for a total of 1,895 square
feet of living space.
