The 4th Annual Huron County
Warden's Charity Golf Tourna-
ment was held at the Seaforth
Golf Club Aug. 15. Around 60
golfers enjoyed the game on the
windy but, nevertheless, warm
and sunny afternoon.
The tournament was hosted by
Huron County warden, Joe Stef-
fler. The goal of the event was to
raise funds for a worthy cause as
well as to provide local residents
with an opportunity to network
and socialize.
This year, the tournament was
held in support of the Huron
County Food Bank Distribution
Centre (HCFBDC), an organiza-
tion that acquires, stores and
distributes food to the food
banks and aid agencies located
within Huron County. The HCF-
BDC also works alongside the
Huron County Health Unit. Last
year, the tournament was held
in support of Habitat for
Humanity Huron County, a non-
profit, non-government, incor-
porated charitable organization
dedicated to improving the lives
of economically disadvantaged
persons.

support of the event.
Steffler was elected as Huron
County's warden by Huron
County Council last December.
As warden, he is the executive
officer of the corporation and
head of County Council. His
main roles are to preside over
council meetings, provide lead-
ership to the council, represent
the municipality at official func-
tions and carry out the duties of
the head of council under the
Municipal Act.
