We are certainly having changeable weather and
temperatures.
Spring is teasing us.
At Cavan Church on Sunday the Lenten Litany was read
by Grace Dolmage and she extinguished the third dark
candle and hung a bag of coins on the cross.
Trish MacGregor was the speaker for this service. The
children's story was titled "The Pout Pout Fish."
One scripture reading was about the "Woman at the
Well."
The choir sang "As the Wind Song Through the Trees:'
Trish's message was about Lent - God is a God of Love
and Jesus talked to the Samaritan woman at the well.
A social time followed the service.
The knitting and crocheting club met at the home of
Ruth Axtmann. If anyone wishes to join us, Ruth or I can
advise you of time and place.
Food for Thought
What did the big toe say to the little toe? Don't look now,
but there's a heel following us."

Since 1914, the Hensall Town Hall
has been a hub of the community, serv-
ing as a library, council chambers, fire
hall, works department and even a
small jail over the years.
Upstairs, the old opera house stage
and gallery still boasts the hardwood
and tin ceilings of long ago, but they
have fallen into disuse over the past 50
years.
In recent years, a grassroots effort to
restore the hall to its former glory has
been underway, bringing the century -
old structure in line with the modern
age with electrical, heating and cooling
and accessibility while still keeping its
original look and features.
The Friends of the Upper Hall are
seeking donations to make the neces-
sary work happen, both through events
and their family wall - a wall of plaques
with the names of donors and their
families.
On Saturday, April 26, there will be
an art auction at the Hensall Arena,
with works coming from Hensall's own
Pat Cook as well as many well known
artists from Exeter, Clinton, London,
Goderich, Bayfield, Stratford and
beyond.
Tickets are $35 at the door.
The committee is still accepting art
donations.
