FIRE NEAR CARGILL
A large barn on the farm; of .An-
drew Beefier, three miles south of
Cargill' vilclage. -'Greenock "Township:
was destroyed by "fire last Saturday
evening. The, season's crop of un-
threshed' grain and hay was in the
• barn, •and all was completely.consum-
ed, together with some live stock. The
fire is thought to have originated
fromgasoline engine used forpump
•ing 'water. -
It might have been worse,,thresh-

" . and ; within ten rods of it when the
fire was discovered. The fire had then
made • such, headway that , nothing
could be done tocheck•. it. Great diffi-
catty was experienced in • saving the
buildings on the adjoining farm. The
