Kinsmen give to CPH
The Clinton Kinsmen had a very
successful breakfast during the CKNX
Healthcare Heroes telethon Saturday,
October 19, raising $4,200 for the
Clinton Public Hospital. The donation
represents $2,100 raised on the day
of the telethon, with the local Kinsmen
Club doubling the total. Darren Brunjes
(left) and Mike Fleming (right) presented
the cheque to Una Roy and Steve
Brown of the CPH Foundation Tuesday,
November 5. Meanwhile, Kinsmen
Cody Lobb was recognized for his
contributions both to the Kinsmen's
many community activities and for his
role in bringing new members to the
service club, earning the Kinsmen of
the Year award. Lobb's enthusiasm and
approach to community service were
the reasons for his award, which was
voted on by secret ballot.
An inside look at the destinations on Kinette's Christmas Home Tour
This weekend, November 15-16, the Clinton Kinettes will
be highlighting four area homes in their Christmas Home
Tour, offering a glimpse at some of the finest home decorat-
ing ideas for the holidays courtesy of local businesses. There
are four homes on the tour, which wraps up with refresh-
ments at the Kin Hall.
The featured homeowners are:
KEVIN AND JILLIAN BENDER:
The Bender family has owned their house since 1998.
When they bought it, it was a storey and a half yellow brick
home built in the late 1800's. What sold them on the home
was the curb appeal and the old world charm, particularly
the beautiful original pine trim. Recently in 2011, they chose
to build on to their home to accommodate their growing
family. The Bender's were able to maintain the charm of the
original home. With the large baseboards, wood flooring
and gas fireplace they were able to accomplish the merger
of present characteristics with those of yesteryear. The
house currently has four bedrooms, two and a half baths,
updated traditional living rooms and a
family room. They are excited to be
partnered with Kinette Betty Kelly to
decorate their home for the Christmas
Home Tour.
AMY LEPPINGTON:
Amy has recently returned to Clin-
ton to move into a beautiful bungalow
style home built in 2012. Situated on a
quiet street just south of Clinton. The
home is open concept with three bed-
rooms and two bathrooms. Amy is one
of the organizers of the home tour and
is excited to show her home with a
Christmas feel. Amy is excited to be
partnered with Nature's Nest in Londe-
sborough for decorating her home.
Luann's Flowers and Gifts from
Goderich will be providing the floors
for the well decorated home.

More than just a great sandwi
to be their family home when they
relocated from Bayfield. At that time
Maynard worked with architects and
had the home converted from a
smaller farm style home to a much
larger modern two story family resi-
dence. The Corries remained in the
home for many years and it became a
much loved and welcome destination
for all the family. In keeping with the
family tradition, six years ago Tom and
Martha moved into the family home
and at this time had more renovations
completed. This included a newly
designed kitchen and more modern-
ized family/dining room. The design
of the new area was intended to
enhance and complement the original
renovations, and continue the tradi-
tion of a warm and welcoming family
home. The Craig family is excited to be
partnered with Blooms and Rooms
from Seaforth who will be helping dec-
orate the home and Per-fect Design of
Clinton who will be providing fresh
arrangements.
JASON HUGILL AND KALEIGH
FLYNN:
The Hugill/Flynn family think that
the Christmas Home Tour is a perfect
opportunity to give back to the com-
munity, as well as enjoy the festive

decorating of the 2013 Christmas sea-
son a little early. They are equally as
excited to be teamed up with Tara Sills
from "Sills Home Staging and Design"
to decorate their home. This is going to
be their first Christmas in their new
house, as it was built just this spring.
They could not have asked for a more
convenient way to build their new
home than with Royal Homes from
Wingham. Royal Homes took our
vision and put it on paper.
In early March 2013 Merner Con-
tracting started moving and digging
dirt to lay the foundation and on
March 25, 2013, their home was deliv-
ered to their lot and pieced together.
Their house consisted of five pieces,
and later the garage was built directly
on site. The house was unloaded off
the trucks with a crane and sitting in
its final destination within 3.5 hours of
arriving.
The Royal Homes crew worked for
the next eight weeks to finish the
house. Over the last four months the
Hugill/Flynn family have been settling
into their new home and are looking
forward to their first Christmas there.
KIN HALL:
The Kin Hall is located in a quiet part
of Clinton. It is available for rent for
any function you may have, a meeting;
birthday party; Christmas Party; or
community gathering. It is fully
equipped with a full kitchen and an
open meeting area. For the Christmas
Home Tour it will be fully decorated
and refreshments will be served. The
Kinettes are excited to partner with
NIS Design Event and Party Rentals,
The Backyard Flower Shop and Ver-
beeks - all of Clinton - to decorate the
hall. We look forward to seeing you for
some yummy treats and refreshing
drinks at the hall on the Home Tour.
