Lieutenant David Hickman said the
relocation is a few years in the making,
and offers better accessibility both for
clients and for loading and storage for
the food bank location.
"The Salvation Army is very commit-
ted to the community in Clinton," he
said mid -move Friday. "We wanted to
find a location that could help us pro-
vide better service."
In addition to larger storage for
donated good, the new offices also
allow for more privacy and confidenti-
ality for clients when meeting with
Family Services staff.
Eventually, Hickman said, the Sally
Ann would like to find a permanent
home in Clinton to replace their former
downtown location, which was
destroyed by fire in January, 2010. In
the meantime, he said the goal is to
continue and improve on their commu-
nity and family services, though the
door is not closed on bringing back a
store in the future.
