Hosted by the Huron Small Busi- ness Enterprise Centre, once again it will be held at the White Carnation Banquet hall in Holmesville, with social time at 6 pm and dinner at 6:30. The objective of the evening is net- working. During dinner, those donat- ing door prizes, and those winning them, each have an opportunity to give a one -minute advertisement of their business/career ...that elevator speech. At the end of the evening, the grand prize will be won by a contest challenging your memory of those businesses. Come and see how it works. You might be the lucky winner. This is going to be an exciting and informative evening, with Lisa Houthuyzen sharing tips and tricks on how to feel comfortable speaking to groups of people large or small. Lisa has been active in Toastmasters for several years and commented that "We all present ourselves. The minute we leave our homes we are "On" so to speak." She feels that, as women, we face additional chal- lenges when "presenting" ourselves and what we have to say. She will address do's and don'ts of public speaking, as well as how to combat the challenges that women face. Lastly she will discuss how to enjoy getting up to speak to people in public. At $30 per person, which includes HST, this is a networking opportunity you can't afford to miss. Bring along your business cards and brochures and don't forget we appreciate donated door prizes. Make this an opportunity to promote your busi- ness to other like-minded women. If you aren't currently in business, this is an opportunity to find out who is and what they do. With 50-60 women all interested in business, this is always an entertaining evening. Feel free to pass the word and bring a friend but please make sure that they are registered. Pre -registra- tion is required so we can confirm dinner numbers. If you register and end up unable to attend, please let us know well in advance. We pay for the number of meals we book at the beginning of the week. To register, or for more information, call Alison Lobb, Business Consultant, or Cathy at the Huron Business Enterprise Centre, 527-0305. $25K in grants available for two Ontario based female entrepreneurs Ontario based eco -friendly fash- ion business owner and philanthro- pist, Shannon Passero, is thrilled to announce her 2nd annual Women's Business Grant program.
