Huron -Perth Catholic students demonstrate success in Grade 9 Mathematics The Huron -Perth Catho- lic District School Board celebrates the achieve- ment and success of our students on the EQAO Pro- vincial Assessments of Mathematics in the inter- mediate division. The annual assessments were conducted in the 2013- 2014 academic year at both the applied and academic levels in Grade 9 Mathematics. The Grade 9 students of Huron -Perth Catholic were equal to the provincial average in grade 9 Aca- demic Level Mathematics. The Grade 9 students of Huron -Perth Catholic were below the provincial aver- age in grade 9 Applied Level Mathematics. • 85% of the Grade 9 Academic level students achieved Level 3 or 4 in Mathematics compared to the provincial average of 85%. • 36% of the Grade 9 Applied level students achieved Level 3 or 4 in Mathematics compared to the provincial average of 47%. The trend for achieve- ment in Academic Level Mathematics indicates that our students have met or exceeded the provincial average for four of the last five academic years.
