Keenan Conlon of
St. Anne's qualifies
for OFSAA tennis
On May 22, Keenan Con-
lon, a Gr. 10 student at St.
Anne's qualified for OFSAA
tennis in boy's singles.
At WOSSA, he was the
only unranked player to
make it to the semi-finals
and so is the #1 ranked high
school player coming out of
WOSSA.
He is the first singles
player from St. Anne's to
move on in tennis to that
level.
St. Anne's also had a
player in girls singles, Victo-
ria Howard, who finished the
day with a 1-2 record in her
first WOSSA appearance.

receives $15,000 OTF
grant for new furnace

The Clinton Legion has a
brand spanking new furnace
thanks to an Ontario Tril-
lium Fund (OTF) grant.
The Royal Canadian
Legion branch in town
received $15,000 from the
OTF to replace the old
furnace.

Chartrand was part of the
committee that prepared the
application to the OTF.
He said the old furnace
was likely more than 40 years
old and they were having a
hard time with its upkeep.
"It gave us some problems
the past two winters and we
were having a hard time
finding replacement parts,"
he said.
The new furnace was
installed on Mon., May 26.
Chartrand said because
the Legion is used by differ-
ent groups and has been

In addition to the $15,000
grant, the legion provided
$2,000 towards the new fur-
nace as well.
The Legion had previously
received an OTF grant three
years ago that helped to pay
for a new roof.
