This year you will be enjoying an "Evening in Paris." Your night will include dinner, live and silent auction, along with lots of entertainment throughout the even- ing. A new feature that they will be having this year is a live band following the live auc- tion so stay longer and enjoy the music on the streets of Paris. Their past Gala's have sold out at 400 tickets and they are looking to sell out again this year. Please do not wait any longer to get your tickets. This is a fantastic event and this year they are raising the funds for the Enhanced Cataract Ser- vices that will be provid- ing service for all of Huron and Perth counties. We are very fortu- nate to have a great hospital and a brilliant Health Care Team to provide our commu- nity with our health care needs. They are always grateful for the donations received from their supporters and events like this would not be as suc- cessful without you. Tickets are still availa- ble and they are $75 per person, which includes a $45 tax receipt. IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT _central Human NOTICE OF OPEN HOUSES & PUBLIC MEETING The Municipality of Central Huron has prepared a Draft Five Year Review of the Central Huron Official Plan. This draft plan has been updated to be consistent with the County of Huron Official Plan and also provincial policies and current mapping. This land use planning document includes the vision, goals and policy directions for development in Central Huron. You are invited to attend an Open House and Public Meeting to review the proposed changes to the Central Huron Official Plan and speak with staff and members of the public about any questions you may have regarding the proposed revisions. Two Open Houses for the public will be held: Friday June 13, 2014 and Saturday June 14, 2014 7-9p.m. 9-11 a.m. Londesboro Hall Holmesville Community Centre 282 Kings Road, Londesboro 180 Community Centre Dr., Holmesville Both meetings will be an open format where you can join us any time between the allotted hours to view displays and share your insights with staff. Comments must be received by Friday June 27, 2014. If you wish to be notified of the adoption of the proposed Official Plan amendment (OPA #17), or of the refusal to amend the Official Plan, you must make a written request by mail to the Municipality of Central Huron, P. 0. Box 400, Clinton, Ontario NOM 1LO, or email clerk@centralhuron.com. The public meetings are being held under the provisions of Section 17 and 26 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, as amended. If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Municipality of Central Huron before the proposed official plan amendment is adopted, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of the County of Huron to the Ontario Municipal Board. If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Municipality of Central Huron before the official plan amendment (OPA#17) is adopted, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Board unless, in the opinion of the Board there are reasonable grounds to do so. Information will be collected in accordance with the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. With the exception of personal information, all comments will become part of the public record. Tune Into Spring gospel -style at First Baptist Church May 31 First Baptist Church in Clin- ton to host its annual Tune into Spring Gospel concert on Sat., May 31. The concert will feature entertainment by Pastor Wally and Friends. Lead by First Baptist Church pastor Wally DeWolfe, the group also features Harry Busby on steel guitar, Debbie Busby on bass, Rick Fortune on drums, pastor Wilbert Schwindt on violin and soloist Mary Mitchler. DeWolfe told the News Record before becoming a pas- tor he was involved in secular music as a country musician. "I'm an old country musi- cian, I've been performing since I was 16 years old," he said. He described the concert as having a "Southern Gospel" feel. The event is a freewill offer- ing with all proceeds going towards the church's Benevo- lent Fund, which is used to help people in need. DeWolfe said the spring con- cert has been going on for over 10 years and always draws a good crowd.
