North Huron male served three-day suspension
ASHFIELD — COLBORNE —
WAWANOSH - A 42 -year-old
male driver recently served a
three-day driver's licence sus-
pension following an early
morning traffic stop on May 10.
At 1:40 a.m. Huron County
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)
officers stopped the driver of a
GMC Sierra pickup that was
travelling on London Road in
Port Albert. Upon speaking with
the driver the officer noted the
driver had been drinking
alcohol.
A roadside test was completed
and the driver registered a fail
on the roadside -screening test.
He was arrested and transported
to the Kincardine OPP Detach-
ment for breath tests.
He provided breath tests to a
qualified intoxilizer technician
and the results registered below
the legal limit however within
the warn range level.
The 42 year old from North
Huron was served with a three-
day driver's licence suspension
and his pickup was towed away
from the scene.
CENTRAL HURON - Shortly
after 5:00 p.m. on May 9, Huron
County OPP officers along with
North Huron Fire Department
firefighters responded to a struc-
ture fire located on Londesboro
Road in Central Huron.
Upon arrival fire crews found
a single dwelling residence fully
engulfed by fire.
Fire crews were able to pre-
vent the spread of the fire how-
ever damages to the unoccupied
residence were extensive.
Later, at 6:42 p.m. an officer
on scene watched a driver pull
his Chevrolet Sierra pickup into
the residence laneway. The
driver ended up parking his
vehicle on top of a fire hose that
was being used by fire crews at
the scene.
The driver exited his vehicle
and spoke with an officer on
scene. After speaking with the
driver the investigating officer
noted the driver had been drink-
ing alcohol and was displaying
signs of impairment.
The driver was arrested for
impaired driving and trans-
ported to the Exeter OPP
Detachment for breath tests.
He provided two samples of
his breath to a qualified intoxi-
lizer technician; both tests were
over the legal limit.
Further investigation revealed
the driver was bound by a pro-
bation order to "keep the peace
and be of good behaviour':

charged with Impaired Driving,
Drive Motor Vehicle - Over 80
Milligrams of Alcohol and Fail to
Comply with Probation Order.

He has a court appearance scheduled
for the Ontario Court of Justice -
Goderich on May 26, 2014. He received
an automatic 90 -day driver's licence
suspension and his motor vehicle was
impounded for seven days.
The cause of the fire has not been
determined.
NORTH HURON - Huron County
OPP officers are investigating a break,
enter and theft to a trailer that took
place sometime between 11:00 p.m. on
May 10, and 7:00 a.m. on May 11.
The thieves attended the Moncrieff
Road property and proceeded to cut the
padlocks off of a vehicle trailer parked
on the property.
Those responsible stole numerous
items from the trailer including:
■ A lime, green Kawasaki model KX
450F dirt bike valued at $6,000
■ A red and black 50 cc mini dirt bike,
valued at $2,000
• A flat black "Shoei" racing helmet
• A black "Fox" brand helmet with red
skulls
• Two pair of brand new "Fox Instinct"
dirt bike boots, size 12 in white and
size 11 in black
• An assortment of racing safety gear
including a chest protector, gloves,
googles and knee braces
• An Ipod Touch
The total value of the stolen goods is
in excess of $10 000.
• Photos of the stolen dirt bikes are
attached.

HOWICK - Huron County OPP offic-
ers are investigating a recent theft of a
Honda engine that was stolen from a
locked shipping container on C Line
Road in Howick Township.
The 13 horsepower, electric start
engine was stolen sometime between
6:00 p.m. on May 12 and 8:00 a.m. on
May 13.
Those responsible forced entry into
the container and proceeded to steal
the engine. The engine is valued at
$1300.

ing this incident should immediately
